Part 53~ Dr. Dolittle
Taketo and Salsa met Kaoru Karasuma the Veterinarian and found out that he once had a WildHalf dog and could see the colours of the mind with his silver eyes.
Salsa had been ill for 2 weeks, so Taketo decided to change doctor and went to Karasuma Veterinarian Clinic following Maria's Suggestion. Their first sight with the doctor was shocking as Kaoru Karasuma (without his spectacles) suddenly told Salsa that he should be seeing human doctor not the veterinarian. But when he has his glasses on again, Karasuma exclaimed that it was a misunderstanding. He thought he had seen a tall dark boy (Salsa in his human form).
Did he really know that Salsa was WildHalf? These thoughts float around the minds of Taketo and Salsa. Furthermore, Salsa couldn't help but noticed it right away that doctor Karasuma looked very similar to Misuki, his previous owner. As if reading Salsa's mind, Karasuma asked, "Am I similar to someone?" Karasuma used Salsa's moment of shock to inject a needle on Salsa's head. He then told Taketo that he had used a strong dose of medicine for Salsa because he was not the normal dog, and he would recover soon. This made Taketo and Salsa wonder even more if he knew about WildHalf.
Maybe it was all a coincidence, Salsa and Taketo thought, as Karasuma seemed careless and silly. But Salsa had some strange feeling that he couldn't smell Karasuma's felling hiding in his deep mind.
While they were returning home, they met Karasuma again. And together they saw a crying girl carrying a dog. She told them she was going to kill it. Her dog was injured badly in a car crash and she couldn't stand seeing it suffer. Salsa, by sensing, understood that the dog didn't want to die but wanted live and needed help. At that same moment, Karasuma, taking down his glasses, voiced out, "He wants to live." He volunteered to save the dog's life. Taketo and Salsa followed Karasuma to his clinic. He then asked Taketo to be a partner in operation. During the operation, the dog was falling and closing to death. With the strong feeling of Taketo, Salsa could send the power to save the dog's life through his hair. But Karasuma almost knew their secret.
The dog successfully saved, Karasuma told Taketo and Salsa that when he was young, he had a dog named "Ginsei". At first, Ginsei was not friendly but later they became best friends. One day, he had a car accident that made him blind. One night, he dreamed about Ginsei coming to see him in a strange human form. Ginsei gave him his eyesight, making himself blind instead. The next morning, Ginsei disappeared. The doctor was surprised that Karasuma's eyes were healed and had become silver -- the colour of Ginsei's eyes. And whenever Karasuma pulled off his glasses, he would see the feelings of people as in the color of the mind. He became a veterinarian for animal that couldn't speak. One day he would find Ginsei and cure his eyes, that was Karasuma's dream.
Finally on their way home, Taketo said Karasuma was similar to Misuki. Salsa was surprised at Taketo's words since he had never seen Misuki before. Taketo said that's what he felt and wished to be a veterinarian like Karasuma.
