This is an example of why the Three Cats only reviews Sailor Moon-based websites. Sweet Utena is a picture gallery dedicated to the Utena anime series, and while there are some attractive qualities to the site, one of the things that hampers my review is that I have never seen the series. With that in mind, on with the show... When I opened the site, I found an interesting combination of Japanese script and red gothic-like letters. An interesting combination. The entire site has a similar format to the main page...black background, minimal extra graphics, and a compact size. These assets are not necessarily bad. If the site upgrades, the author should try to maintain the compact size and the simple format. It makes it easier on webpage browsers. Since this page is a picture gallery, I took a look. The pictures look good on the gallery pages, they load quickly, and are of good quality. Whether they are your standard fare or whether there are some hidden rarities within the gallery, I can not tell, since I haven't seen the series. Even though I have not seen the series, I decided to check out the information section of the page. The page has a lot of information, but whether that info is accurate is an unknown. When I checked out the audio section of the page, I found a fair amount of audio files. I am sure there are more things that could go here, and I encourage the author to add to this collection. Now, there are some things that the author could do to improve the page. Perhaps the biggest thing that needs fixed is the fact that about three seconds after you load EACH page, a installation query pops up and asks if you want to install Comet Cursor. I would not have given this a second thought if it were limited to the main page. A lot of pages are putting comet cursors on their page, and they are accepted by websurfers at large, even if they are annoying to some people, myself included. Pretty quickly though, I got tired of the big gray object popping up in my face. "Do you want to install Comet Cursor?" ::growl:: I was listening to my own music, so I didn't hear the imbedded audio sound playing on the webpage, but I also looked for a control somewhere and I didn't find one. While it's not required, it is good form to put some sort of control on the page so that if the user does not want to hear the music, they don't have to. While there is a good bit of information on some of the characters in the series, the info itself is arranged into one huge block of text with no formatting or images or decorations whatsoever. Something like this is very hard to read. After that, there are a couple of small things that touching up the page can solve. There is a broken link to a chat room on the main page, and the links on the music page seem to run into the menu at the bottom of the screen. All the site needs is a bit of touching up to have a major improvement.
