Sailor Moon Rocks

Sailor Moon Rocks is a general Sailor Moon page that appears to be in the middle of growing.

There is no splash page to the site, and a pop-up asks the viewer if they'd like music. This is nice, (click Cancel for no music). I'd suggest the additional step of putting a MIDI control on the page in case someone hits the OK butoon by mistake.

Once you arrive at the site's main page, you are greeted with a frame format that is actually quite nice. There are some ads that if nothing else, add color to the page. There are no loading issues to deal with, and the page seems to work smoothly.

The main page is compact enough that most of it fits on the screen with very little vertical scrolling necessary. There are only a couple of things I'd change here, and both of them are cases of things that I'd drop. First, people have varying opinions on "This site is under construction" notes...most opinions fall into the "they're not needed" category, and for the most part, they are correct. I only use Under Construction notes when there is stuff happening in major areas of my page and there is a chance that a use will slip into a broken link...so I tell them IN THAT SECTION, hey, I'm doing a bit of work here, so please be patient. Basically, don't put construction notes on the main page.

The second thing is the guestbook comments. It's considered bad Net etiquette to blatantly ASK for guestbook signatures.

Outside of the content, I would consider ditching the comet cursor. While this one is not too annoying, the general opinion on the things is that they are just this side of the SPAWN OF SATAN, so perhaps it should go.

While surfing through the site, I found that its strong point was the pictures and icons. The picture galleries are quite large. The only thing I'd change here is I'd organize them by size, or use thumbnails. Either way, the galleries would look nicer. (like the icon gallery, for example)

I really liked the icon gallery. It's the first time I've seen one of these, and I think it's a cool idea.

There is also a large archive of fanfics, and a ballot for people to choose their favorite Sailor Moon character.

The profiles section could use some work. Right now, each character's profile consists of a picture and the standard profile fare. Try to expand upon the profiles and add a bit of a personal perspective to them.

Overall, Sailor Moon Rocks is a page that shows potential, and right now, I like what I see. Keep up the good work.

Artemis' Score: 6.2
