Although this is a relatively new site, Horizons hits the ground running and fully lives up to the motto "get it fast, but get it right". The site is a large collection of information about Sailormoon, the various variations of the series, and even some of the facts about the series creator, Naoko Takeuchi. Before I get into the information, I must say that the graphics on the site are quite varied, very well put together and arranged, and they are done just enough to spruce up the page...pages are not simple text layouts, and the page doesn't attempt to inundate a user with pictoral brilliance. The graphics are also seamless, and this is something that some people may miss because it is done so well. In the case of some corner graphics, you can tell where the header graphics and the side graphics meet. Not in this case. The web mistress did a really nice job on creating the atmosphere for the page using some nice tricks and a good measure of skill. (Check out the Reflections page to see what I mean) The site also functions well. There are no run-time or script errors, and lately these have become a big no-no for me, simply because they are annoying, and because it is the most annoying way for free sites like Geo to get their money. I have nothing against the scripts themselves, but when they work, they work good. When they don't, they're horrid. But I digress... The meat of this site is its information, and there is a TON of it. Want tips about building webpages, go here. Want to know what other people (like WPR groups) think about this site? Go here. Want to know the deep-down scoop on the latest dub? Go here. And the site doesn't just stick with the run-of-the-mill info and topics. There's also a nice section on Sailormoon's manga roots and a nice bunch of information about Naoko Takeuchi. There is even a group of interviews that have been done with Naoko-san, and apparently the web mistress went through the trouble of translating an interview for the readers from French into English, a very nice thing to do for the readers. And during my journeys through this site, I noticed their story about hopping from one site to another in an attempt to find a webspace provider that would best do what they wanted...present their site in the best way without the interference caused by pop-up ads or banners. Good job! :) The only VERY small problem is it appears that one of the links on the front page is typed twice. I am more prone to put this in the category of a simple mistake, but it should be fixed rather quickly as it is on the site's main page. Overall, the site combines a simple, yet attractive design with informative and accurate information. Feel free to bookmark this site. It's well worth it.
