Tamohome: The Ogre

Tamohome is what you may call a hero. He is the main love interest in "Fushigi Yuugi," and suffers quite a bit as a result. Tamohome wears his Suzaku symbol right in the middle of his forehead, and it looks like this:

The sign of the ogre fits Tamohome well, for he is a ferocious fist fighter. Like the ogre, he will give no quarter, but demand it from his opponent. He has a deeply ingrained sense of justice, but money appears to be his master. Literally, the name could mean ogre, devil, or ghost, and Tamohome could fit them all, with his intense fighting power, and almost uncanny sense of when his priestess and his love is in danger. This has saved her bacon many a time, but also led to a great deal of stress for Tamohome.

Tamohome's life-changing event could be either one of two events. The first could be the event of his father becoming an invalid. Tamohome is the oldest of five children, and thus decided that he was the one to earn money to support the family. As his father grew sicker and sicker, Tamohome hired himself out as a bodyguard and protector. For a long time, the only reason he lived was to get money. At first, this greed seemed to be a flaw, but once it was discovered that he spent the money on his family, he proved to be noble. One should not judge ogres by appearance! The second event could be the day when the local children made fun of his Suzaku sign on his forehead. Being a small boy, he could not fight back, and that led Tokaki of the Byakko seven to train Tamohome in the ways of martial arts. Tamohome is now an unstoppable fighter, like an ogre.

The ogre that is TamohomeBoshi is represented in the sky by the stars that make up Cancer. Tamohome fits this as well, because the crab is a defensive yet fierce creature. His crabby attitude when he's short on cash could be a contributing factor as well . . .
