Chord dictionary

comment: Ok, I know I've put names of chords, and I apologize for my laziness; I just assumed that those
who would use these tabs would know how and where to play these chords. Thanks, Omar, for
pointing out to me that not everyone knows everything (even me). So, in order to rectify this
situation, I've decided to put up a chord dictionary that contains the chords used in the songs.
These are laid out in the following fashion:
ex:
Chord name strings (low-E to high-E)
E A D G B e
Em 0 2 2 0 0 0
| | | | | | would look like:
| | | | | |
| | | | | L--> -----0-------e
| | | | L----> -----0-------B
| | | L------> -----0-------G as a tab.
| | L--------> -----2-------D
| L----------> -----2-------A
L------------> -----0-------E
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
*****NOTE: this list is NOT a complete dictionary of chords; in the guitar world, as with many stringed
instruments (piano, guitar, banjo, harp), there are SEVERAL ways to play a chord and there are
just as many, IF NOT MORE, ways to modify a chord to change its sound. The list below is a list of
the most popular chords (so don't complain to me if the chord you want isn't on here).
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A word on chord forms:
most of the chords below use the moveable barre chord as their base chord. This is because the
moveable barre chord usually uses no open strings (a string that is not fretted/fingered). For
reference purposes, I've included the basic forms here. Seventh chords are simply modifications of
these.
major barre-chord, root on E minor barre-chord, root on E
E A D G B e E A D G B e
___________ ___________
| | | | | | | | | | | |
* | | | * * <- barre finger here -> * | | * * *
| | | * | | | | | | | |
| * * | | | | * * | | |
| | | | | | | | | | | |
major barre-chord, root on A minor barre-chord, root on A
E A D G B e E A D G B e
