Graffiti
The international street art.  In Japanese cities, graffiti was not a major problem.  In fact, the only area I really noticed it was on a train wall stretching from Yokohama Station to Sakuragicho Station.  This wasn't true graffiti though.  It was art.  Many of the artworks were elaborate murals with some being of cartoon characters.
