And yes, there is one helluva unmistakable common theme developing here. We do not know of Shimadzu receiving even a notable mention in the past four years. And for all we know, they may have never had a honorable mention at any Pittcon meeting ever! Take-home lesson: Keep this inferior line of analytical instrumentation (that's being generous) out of your lab or you will be sorry!
