| The world is practically run by Shinra, an organization that provides energy to people. A Shinra scientist happened upon the remains of what he supposed to be an ancient. Shinra thinking that the promised land would be a source of unimaginable energy conduct experiments on the creature. |
| There is a story passed down about Ancients... Ancients were a strong, technically affluent culture that went from planet to planet trying to find their Promised Land. When they got to Earth they were too weakened from travel and many weary years that the human race practically all but wiped them out. |
