| In the beginning... Spira was divided by war, one weapon created by the war was made by Yu Yevon, Sin. A plague on humanity Sin destroyed everything in its path. Zanarkand, the city of machines and extraveagence was destroyed in this war. Yunalesca, Yu's daughter, gave her life to stop Sin by the power of the Aeon's. However it did not end Sin. |
| Sin could never be defeated as it would regenerate through the Aeon's who defeated it and would assume its destoryer's powers. So Spira became known as the Spiral of death as Summoners, those who summoned Aeons to fight, constantly battled with Sin to create a Calm in the world; causing the cycle to restart again. |
| 10,000 years later a boy named Tidus, in the middle of his historic Blitzball game, has his world destoryed by Sin and is mysteriously transported from his home in Zanarkand to Spira, after an old family friend Auron pops up.. |
| He eventually washes up on shore on a tropical island, where he meets Yuna. Yuna is the daughter of High Summoner Braska (meaning he defeated Sin and brought about a Calm) and through rigorous trials she has just been accepted by the Aeons as a Summoner. Now Yuna's pilgrimage is to begin. |

| Tidus joins up with the Summoner's group as they travel to Luca where there is a Blitzball tournament,where they figure he'll find someone he knows. On the boat ride over he finds out that Yuna's father had two guardians Auron and Ject, who was an awesome Blitzball player. He finds noone in Luca, sealing for a fact that he doesn't belong in this world, but then he learns of Auron's presence. |
