Known Background History:

Born in Illandria, Kiernan trained as a soldier in the palace with a man named Hest'lre of 
Alexandria. They remained close friends over the years and rose in the ranks to both become 
Counsellors. During training, Kiernan formed a close relationship with Selene du'Kosar. She was 
the designated woman to be trained and rise to be Queen. The two once became drunk together and  
when they woke from being passed out because of the wine, they found themselves entangled 
together. Neither remembers if anything happened, but it still haunts Kiernan because her 
handfasted parter and the King, Joshua du'Kosar, is one of his close friends.

Before being called to replace Sean of Kosar as Seventh Counsellor, a woman was sent to 
assassinate him. The attempt failed and the woman, Adriana, was taken into captivity. Kiernan 
ignored when she was raped and molested by fellow soldiers, saying arrogantly that she diserved 
it for attempting to kill him, and he allowed her to live, knowing that it was the worst 
disgrace for a Lan'liena soldier. "Death before Dishonour". Now, he has spent his life looking 
back on what he did to the woman, and analyizing his obsession with her and with woman fighters 
in general, and his ideas are changing as he falls in love with a woman fighter from his own 
Country, also Adriana's close friend.
