| 1 (series and season premiere) | Five strangers selected to take a cross-country road trip together meet, receive their "clues" and head off on their first adventure together---an afternoon of land sailing in Nevada. Afterward, the five travel to Las Vegas and then to Nogales, Ariz., where they meet America's youngest mayor.
| 2 | While in Nogales, Ariz., the group participates in a pentathlon to win the key to the city. Later, Louie takes them to Mexico for some partying, and Allison winds up "snuggling up to the mayor," according to Mark. Next stop: Flagstaff, Ariz., for some sled-dog racing.
| 3 | Following their dog-sledding excursion, the gang heads to Shelley's home town of Oklahoma City, where she confides in her mother about the conflict with Los. Meanwhile, the attraction between Kit and Mark continues to grow, and Allison and Los develop a conflict of their own.
| 4 | In Louisiana, the group spends some time working on an alligator farm, and partying on New Orleans' Bourbon Street. Meanwhile, the chemistry between Mark and Kit heats things up.
| 5 | As time goes by, Kit and Mark realize a kiss isn't just a kiss and try to rationalize their feelings for each other. Meanwhile, the gang goes in search of "the first man of jazz" in New Orleans, but plans change when the five meet a voodoo priestess and attend a séance.
| 6 | After arriving at a nudist camp in Florida, only three of the Road Rulers can bear to bare their birthday suits in order to get the next clue. Later on, the group heads to Kit's home town in Georgia, but she's got Mark on her mind when she reunites with her boyfriend.
| 7 | After Kit tells her boyfriend about smooching with Mark, he gives her the big kiss-off. Meanwhile, in Washington D.C., the group is stopped by police officers and questioned.
| 8 | The group takes a bite out of the Big Apple, where the five appear on "The Today Show" and find a special garden. Meanwhile, Allison thinks Los is a worm for hitting on her sister.
| 9 | The "Road Rulers" head to Quantico, Va., where they visit the U.S. Marine Corps Officer Candidates School, a mission that forces Shelley to face a daunting physical challenge, and forces the group to cooperate in order to accomplish their latest task.
| 10 | In completing another task, the group learns some of the trials and tribulations that police officers face---lessons that force Los to face some personal issues. Also: the Road Rulers are abuzz when one of them turns up with a shaved head.
| 11 | The gang rolls into Ft. Wayne, Ind., where they get a chance to rock with Van Halen as the music group's opening act.
| 12 | The Road Rulers wheel into Rockford, Ill., where they take part in a demolition derby that pits Mark and Kit against Shelley and Allison.
| 13 | Due to a fear of heights, Shelley is in no rush to take on the group's new task---climbing Mt. Rushmore. But she's forced to face her phobia head-on when the Rulers get their next assignment---sky diving.
| 14 | The group is understandably high-strung after a mishap occurs during their sky-diving mission in Devil's Tower, Wyo.: a diver's primary chute fails to open on the way down.
