Halfworld/Wholeworld

Looking for love in this halfworld
I find myself alone, deserted
Is this hell or some world in between?
Or is it just a madman's dream?

Drowning in a stream of false hope,
I shout. But no-one throws a rope
Drifting in a sea of lost ideals.
Now I know how a madman feels.

I see the faces of my friends,
their hidden thoughts plain in their smiles
In the places where the smiles grow thin
you can see the scaly snake skins.

Sometimes I want to cry
Cos I realise that I believed the lies
When I thought at last that I was wise
Has love now gone forever from my life?

There is someone to trust
The friend you need to break you clear
From the bonds of your heart's fear
There's a friend to help you, always near
A friend who always hears.

There is love within a warm embrace
And Mother's love lights her face
There's love enough to heal the human race
Of its wounds and hurts and sad disgrace
All within a true heart's space.

To the rhythm of a heartbeat's pace
You climb the last stair and find the place
Where time dissolves in boundless space
And so you gaze at last on love's true face
Now, forever all your days.

When fear has given way to trust
And lust has melted into love
You fly forever far above yourself
And banish all the halfworld lies
Forever you, forever wise.
