Sailormercury
Sailormercury is the brains of the inner senshi. In fact, she's rumered to have an I.Q. od around 300! Weather this is true or not, she is the best at analyzing situations and coming up with logical plans of action. Her fighting style is mostly defensive; har shabon spray, for example, merely hides or confuses a youma while the other senshi have time to attack or get away.
Sailormercury's alter ego is Mizuno Ami. Ami is a bit of a bookworm, and can normally found studying or reading. She's very different than the other girls, in that while they are often fairly loud and boisterous, she is much more the shy and quiet type. This, however, does not mean that Ami cannot supply some kind of comic relief! Due to her naturally shy personality, she often becomes embarresed at the actions of her fellow senshi! (some of the expressions that Ami-chan gets on her face are priceless, you just have to see them!!)
In Japan, Sailormercury is considerd to be the most popular senshi. Many people find this hard to believe, because if you look at it one way, Sailormercury could be considerd the most boring character with the least amount of personality. However, I think it makes sense that she is the favorite, for these 2 reasons:
1. People can relate to charactes who they think look like themselves. Out of all the inner senshi, Ami probably looks the most Japanease. (exept for Rei, but how many shinto priestesses do you think watch sailormoon?)
2. Sailormoon is directed at girls who are at the age where they may be beginning to study for their high school entrance exams. They may find it easier to relate to a more studious character than one who doesn't have to spend much of thier time studying.
