| If you're another otaku like I am, you probably know what I mean when I say that Mako-chan's face is everywhere in the anime world (or maybe I was simply too much of a Mako-fanatic ^^;). Curious? Join me in a trip to the other side of the mirror and meet all those Mako-lookalikes I've been talking about!
Ukyo KuonjiAnime girls who remind of Mako-chan are usually brown-haired, ponytailed girls. Well, for Ucchan of Rumiko Takahashi's infamous Ranma 1/2, the similarities doesn't just end with the physical appearance. One of my most favorite anime characters of all time, Ucchan is one tough girl; spirited, strong, independent--and a great okinomiyaki chef. Unlike the rest of Ranma's fiancees, Ucchan is much more sensitive, and rarely badgers her former playmate and fiancee (and when she does, Ranma gets flustered and tries very hard not to hurt her feelings--which is more than I can say for Shampoo and Kodachi's case). One other interesting note: her style of dressing/wardrobe (her chef get-up excluded) is similar to Mako-chan's...
Momiji FujimiaMomiji, brown-haired and green-eyed, is the main character of Blue Seed. She is a descendant of Kushinada, a bloodline able to send Aragami, a race of monsters, into slumber.
Unazuki FuruhataUnazuki-chan is a character from Bishoujo Senshi Sailormoon. She's known as Motoki-san's younger sister (a year older than Mako). The first time I saw her in a preview of the next S episode (she actually appeared in R, too, but I finished the S season before I did R), I really thought it was Mako-chan! She had the hair (although not as wavy), the eyes, and she was wearing an apron, so I assumed it was Mako-chan in the kitchen (sporting a slightly different look)!
MaiMai is the sexy modern ninja from Fatal Fury. Now here is a girl who can stop Mako-chan dead in her tracks the next time she brags about her large chest ^_- Anyway, in certain moments in a Sailormoon S episode (episode #105, "Power ga Hoshii! Mako-chan no Mayoi Michi"), Mako looked exactly like Mai. Plus, Mai has been known to wear round ponytails just like Mako, 'cept that hers are red.
NatsukoNacchan is the pigtailed Mako from the anime Cutey Honey. Sorry about the SD pics of her below--it was the only ones I could find. I haven't watched this anime yet, but so far I've found out that she was a former criminal, but then later on changed to be one of the good guys, alongside Honey and the Hayami family.
