Happy World!

Happy World is a really new OVA that just came out in Japan so I'm assuming there's not a whole lot of information or images for it. SO fear not! For I've took the time and in this small page a dedication to those who really need to know you're NOT the only unfortunate soul out there and I'm sure we all need a Happy World ^^...

Anyhow Happy World OVA is supposed to be a four part OVA about a normal guy who happens to be very very unlucky. If I've not said it enough let me explain what this means, for those who have seen the first episode you'd understand. But for those who haven't this is the life of Takeshi the unluckiest person in the world who just happens to be graced by an Angel... Hmmm... now if he's so unlucky why does he get an Angel...

In the first few minutes of the OVA we are shown a young man, wide eyed looking up into an inferno blazing with fire trucks, ambulances and fire fighters trying to put out the flames. In the next few scenes it is shown that the house that's in flames is none other than his own, the unfortunate kid's house with a sign labelled "Oomura" that's seen momentarily before it's engulfed within the flames.

Thankfully a catchy cute song jumps in as the traditional Anime opening song and after the song is over we are again brought back to Takeshi's grim reality. We then see Takeshi walking away from the blazing inferno that was his home within his neighborhood only to hear two females converse as he walks pass them. "Did you know there was a fire yesterday night?", the other female casually replies, "I saw it when I was coming home from the store." Only to be answered in exciting tones that definitely didn't seem to be really sympathetic, "Everything burned down, everything."

This is where the whole really really lousy luck comes in for Takeshi as he glares and grunts after passing them before finding himself flat on the floor tripping over a crack in the pavement. He then opens his eyes still on the floor he slowly gets up while looking at a puppy as it wags it's tail. After opening his palm to make sure he didn't totally tear the skin off of it, flies come to his palm briefly to nibble on his hands before he proceeds to go find a place to wash it off. Which in the next scene we then see him at a park we where see him kneeling before a faucet with running water cleaning his palm from various cuts I from the fall. When suddenly he turns the knob on the faucet a bit too hard and pulls the whole thing off causing the water faucet to spray directly into his face. After the initial surprise he gets up with a glare at the faucet while cursing to himself before he tosses the faucet over his shoulder, only for it to land on a dog just slightly behind him right on it's head interrupting not only it's precious sleep but now a nice bump to boot. As expected the next scene is of Takeshi literally running for his life out of the park in attempts to outrun the dog. The two run for a brief moment with the dog chasing him right behind his back as suddenly, for an unfortunate fellow he at least knows how to fake a left as he sees an upcoming pole on the right side just ahead. With the added perfect timing of the dog leaping for his neck it smacks right into the electrical pole knocking it out quite literally and stuck there.

As with his luck is concerned, Takeshi wasn't as lucky as he thought he was either. As the camera pans from the dog to the left side, we see poor Takeshi quite literally stuck to the tree truck of a cherry blossom tree with his arms stretched out before he falls back onto the floor. After getting up and wiping his face he notices that the dog is still stuck to the electrical pole so in getting back at the dog, he kicks the pole and snickers to himself in triumph as the dog slides down onto the floor. Guess what now? If this was a normal lucky fellow he would then just walk off and continue his day, but not in this scenario. For just after Takeshi kicks the electrical pole, it decided to drop a little gift to the person who kicked at it. This little gift was not little at all in fact it was a huge electrical circuit barrel of some sort and it plummeted right onto Takeshi's head cracking his skull and landing him back onto the floor, at least this time face up instead of him kissing the pavement.

After blinking a few times and quite impossible unable to move on the floor we then see a sparkle of light shimmer in the sky for the longest time. The light descends closer and closer to where Takeshi is, enabling us to finally see a pair of wings flapping around a glowing yellow light. The light disappears as the wings open to reveal a kawaii angel stretching its right hand out to Takeshi with a heartfelt warmth. "Gomen Nasai!" or "I'm Sorry!" and this is where I leave the rest to the pictures to tell you of what happens next. I do hope this series gets picked up by someone soon for it's definitely a welcoming Anime to what we have already, this particular OAV I noticed isn't exactly like what I thought the series would be, like in terms of "Ah My Goddess". In fact totally quite different for Takeshi Oomura seemingly doesn't want her around. O.o Am I missing something?! WHO doesn't want an Angel around??! Heh... I guess only the unfortunate would know...
