Hello, you probably came to this page from a link in one of my auctions. I set up this page to tell you a little bit more about the "Drive" I mention. As you probably read, all the profits from my auctions are going towards the purchase of a REDMAN Power Wheelchair for my mother.
My mother has Multiple Sclerosis and has been a paraplegic for the past 4 years. She cannot stand or weight bear. I am her sole caregiver since my father passed away, since we cannot afford to pay for any help (my mother makes a little too much income to qualify for Medicaid, but not enough to be able to pay for help on her own). Since I care for my mother 24/7, I cannot work a job. We exist on my mother's Social Security, a small Veterans Benefit (from my father having been a disabled Veteran) and the $210 a month I receive from general assistance.
Medicare will not pay for a new wheelchair for my mother. She currently has a JAZZY 1113 that is several years old and does not tilt or recline. I want to buy my mother a REDMAN Power Wheelchair, one that tilts/reclines and also goes into a standing position. This would not only improve her ability to get around, it would also help alleviate pressure sores and improve circulation. Most importantly, my mother would be able to stand for the first time again in 4+ years.
Unfortunately, this wheelchair is not inexpensive. My goal is to raise $10,000 in order to buy it. All the profits from the auctions I hold will go towards this cause. Anything I own that would be able to be put on eBay I plan on auctioning. There will also be auctions of larger items from our house--such as an organ and a recliner chair. I will be putting up a graph on this page to show how much money is made each month (minus eBay and PayPal fees, and shipping costs, of course).
Finally, I (hesitantly) have put a PayPal donation link on this site. I know many people think anyone asking for money on the internet is setting up a scam of some sort. I fully intend, once I raise the money needed and buy the chair, to post pictures of it, the bill and my mother using the chair. If you can afford to donate anything at all, I would be very thankful.
If you have read this far, thank you! I look forward to many pleasant transactions and I hope you will wish me luck in reaching my goal!
