Prog 77 - Cursed Earth Part 17
Giants Aren't Gentlemen

Remember back in the old days when the only colour in 2000AD was found on the covers and the two centre pages? Originally it was Dan Dare took the center spread but Dredd moved in and got to start in colour. But he didn't always get both pages. During the Cursed Earth's run 2000AD was printing up a Cursed Earth boardgame that needed colour pieces. So in this issue Dredd only gets one colour page. Which makes the colourist's error all the more noticeable. Funny nobody caught it. How hard could it have been to know what colour the Jolly Green Giant was supposed to be? Art by Brian Bolland.

Here Dredd runs into a whole posse of corporate mascots lead by a mad scientist with distinctive features. Would you buy fried chicken from this man? Incidentally this sequence doesn't directly follow the colour page. Doc Gribbons had two giants and both grabbed Dredd. Art by Brian Bolland.
The issue ends with the Judges and Spikes drugged as the good Doctor reveals he needs human spinal fluids to maintain his creations and he's short of donors. As it hadn't been that long since they were similarly drugged in the town of Repentence they should really have been a bit more careful about accepting free meals.
