CREATIVE ANIME MAILING LIST RULES & REGULATIONS
Here are the rules! BTW, always read messages marked ADMIN, they are always important!
Here are the list rules (borrowed from Haruka on the Amazone with permission):
Swearing: Don't do it. An accidental slip will be forgiven, but keep it up and you're O-U-T. This is mostly for politeness, and also because we hope to have some younger kids on this list!
Delete from previous messages: When answering a post, delete as much from the previous message as possible. There's no need to quote an entire message if you're only responding to one line of it, but do keep that line in so we know what you're responding to.
Subject header: If you're replying to a message, check the subject header first and change it if it no longer applies to the message body.
Sig lines: Deleting mile-long sig lines is a pain. Sigs should be kept to no more than six single- spaced lines (especially as egroups adds a
sig line/ad of their own onto all list messages.) One line replies: Try to keep simple answers like yes or no off the list, because all that does is fill up our mailboxes! We're all busy people.
One-on-one conversation: If you're talking to only one person on the list and the conversation is going completely off-topic, take it to either private mail, the egroups chat room (it's always available for the ML's use), or ICQ.
Flames: Don't do it. Period. If one person is rude, another will respond and next thing you know the list is a war zone. If you have a beef with someone, take it OFF THE LIST. Posts that are rude, snide, or sarcastic will be responded to by a very not-happy Admin and those who keep it up are gone.
Off-topic posts: Okay guys, you know what I'm thinking, right? Off-topic post are alright, but only if marked with an (OT) tag at the beginning of the subject line! Now, pleez not too many, okay, this list is for creative anime works, which is pretty wiiiiiiiide!
Chain letters: None. Zero. Nada. You post one, you're off the list, no questions asked.
Attachments: Not everyone's computer can handle them, so post a URL instead if you want someone to see a picture or read a fic, or you could ask who wants the file, then send it to them privately.
Pressure: Don't tell others what or when to post or that a certain post shouldn't have been made (contact an Admin privately if any messages trouble you and WE will deal with them as we see fit.) And don't feel pressured to respond or post if you don't want to--that wouldn't be fun for any of us.
So, that's it. If you have any questions or comments feel free to ask the Admins - Tiger Eye or Nadya! Please enjoy yourself while on the list, and be considerate of everyone around you!
