"The Dreamer" by Nadya Neklioudova (aka Angel Mercury), written on February 25, 2000
Through the crisp night, lit by starlight,
Through the reaching, ghostly branches,
She is seen - the silver dreamer,
She who sails the stars in silence,
She who sees her own reflection
In the sea of dreams below her
On the world that she belongs to.
With her eyes she looks upon us,
Never judging, always loving,
Never taking, only giving
Us the peace of sleep we search for.
It is she, the silver dreamer,
Who inspires our visions
With unknown-yet worlds of magic -
She dreams one for every soul
Each night, when our spirits leave us,
Seeing wonders while we slumber.
Watching over us in silence,
With her eyes she looks upon us,
Always loving, sometimes wishing
For a dream that's all her own.
Lil Note: I like to make up legends, but I did not mean to make this poem in the style of the famous poem "Hiawatha" on purpose... it just came out that way. Which is neat, because it does sound kinda like an Indian legend...
