A Tribute to Takeuchi Naoko, Bishoujo senshi series creator

The Fire Senshi's Realm would like to recognize the creativity and success of this talented person!

1992-1997. The Bishoujo Senshi series became a popular hit among people from all ages for five years. And they even consider this as a long period for any anime and manga. It's amazing that since this was intended for children in Japan ages 12 and below, people (such as I am! ^_^) are so devoted to the show. I could only guess why. The "magical girl" concept has been around for so long, but what Takeuchi Naoko established broke with this trend were the following: the element of romance and friendship, the unique ironies among the characters and vilains themselves, plus the powerful battle scenes in the story. And don't forget about the funny antics!

Takeuchi Naoko's signature

The real story created by Takeuchi Naoko-san are all in her mangas. But from what I know is that she is also involved in the story for the anime. There may be a lot of differences and a lot of inconsistencies in both, but the characters still contain the elements we like! My favorite character, Hino Rei, is really different in both. But she's still the headstrong, fiery spiritual girl that to me, makes her stand out! And what I'm grateful to her is that she created Hino Rei to be a "beautiful girl" along with Hino Rei's basic ironies. And that in the anime where Hino Rei fights for those she loves.

Takeuchi Naoko's bunny trademark...sleeping!

See the bunny sleeping above? Takeuchi Naoko-san uses this mostly in her little commentaries in the mangas. So cute! Of course, with all allusions to Tsukino Usagi!

She actually draws in great detail! Almost every little strand of hair being brushed by the wind, every sway of the skirt is detailed! That is why our favorite senshi looks spectacular in the manga!

Takeuchi Naoko's signature

Takeuchi Naoko-san has truly inspired a lot of people. We shall all relate to the characters she created---what they like, how they speak, how firm their friendship is. And for more than ever, I think the Bishoujo Senshi series will always go on forever. One of the classics in manga and anime. Domo arigato gozaimasu! ^_^
