A Caring Confidante (Part 3 of 4)
The next one on the list of Rei's friends is Kino Makoto! Tallest of all the Inner senshi and very strong! With her strength, she can put down anyone! At one time, (in the S movie), she was able to score 100 on punching (a game in the arcade) without any difficulty! Truly, Mako-chan has the strength that amazes everyone.
However, the true strength of Kino Makoto lies within her. Even if she does have "brute" strength, Makoto is very feminine! This seems to be apparent in the way she dresses. (Actually, I like the way she dresses as well.)
Despite her strength, she never comes across to anyone as a bully. In fact, she's a good confidante. In the manga, everyone refers to her as a "big sister." This is also apparent in the anime especially when she is relating to Rei. In the episode where Yuuichirou's heart crystal was taken, Makoto
sensed that Rei's troubles were in connection to their enemy and not anything that had to do with men, as their other comrades thought. In fact, it was also Makoto who understood what Rei felt with Mamoru and Usagi in the first season. Makoto knew that Rei still felt sad even when she understood that Mamoru and Usagi were meant to be.
It seems that Makoto is Rei's best confidante than Usagi herself. Amazingly, Makoto displays an enormous kind of sensitivity towards her friends. This has been one of the factors that makes Makoto special.
Makoto reflects the strength and caring nature of earth, which is her element. Her lightning and thunder attacks are powerful and very useful when they battle an opponent. Sailorjupiter has always been an important force to contend with in the team of sailor soldiers.
There is one thing about Makoto that I like to address. There is some anxiety about Sailorjupiter being the first to die.
Of course, any Sailorjupiter fan would feel bad about that, but let me just tell you what my sister Rae said (she maintains The Beam of the Love Senshi.) "The fact that Sailorjupiter dies first does not reflect if she's less powerful or neglected. If anything, it reflects more about her bravery since she goes to battle the enemy first."
Another commendable thing about Makoto is that she's a good cook! (Well, that attracted Usagi's attention, too!) She seems to be the most domesticated person among the senshi. Living alone, she knows how to keep her apartment in good order. Makoto can really be a good wife and she dreams to be one someday!
Well, Makoto really falls for a lot of men! The most memorable one is her senpai! By what she calls him, we know that senpai is an older boy. However, up until the end of the series, his face will remain a mystery. (Even in the manga, his face is covered by lots of clouds!) Makoto usually refers to a lot of men dreamily as someone who looks like her senpai! At one time, even gushing about a little dog who looks "kawaii" like her senpai!
Actually, Makoto seems to be an expert on love, as well. She can be able to relate very well on this aspect. Makoto's sensitivity and benevolence is really one admirable trait!
It's really easy to love someone as charming and caring as Makoto. Strong, caring, sensitive, protective, powerful... and all the more easy to approach! Truly a 
remarkable person indeed!
