Soldier of the Ocean (Part 2 of 5)
One of the mysterious duo who appeared, her face hidden in the shadows along with another fellow senshi. When Michiru appears, however, it seems that she shall always wish to stay behind the tenacious Haruka and she will always be behind her for support. She certainly had the lighter temperament and it seems she is more objective of the Inner senshi than her partner.
Michiru is also Sailorneptune, the senshi of the ocean. While she is being compared to Sailormercury, the anime shows that it was Michiru who noticed and approached Ami first. She was actually impressed with Ami's strength, not knowing that she was actually looking at another sailor senshi. Then, Michiru coolly approached Ami and challenged her to a swimming match. The result was a tie, even in the rematch. Michiru also expressed concern over Ami in this episode.
Sailorneptune actually summons the power of the ocean and she tried to seek the talisman, as that of Haruka's mission. It was when she was captured by Eudial that she knew she was one of the owner of the talismans. Hit by Eudial's bullets as she struggled towards Sailoruranus, Eudial fired her Fire Buster gun and released the mirror from Sailorneptune's heart crystal. In the manga, however, Sailorneptune appeared already carrying the mirror and her mission was not to look for the talisman.
During the first part of the Sailorstars series, in the battle against Neherenia, Sailormars finds herself trapped in an unknown dimension with Sailorneptune. Sailormars thinks that Sailorneptune is mature seeing how she calmly faced the enemy. But this partnership between Inner senshi and Outer senshi, fire and water, although different in their ways of fighting, have proven to be successful with their cooperation defeating Neherenia's maidens.
She was also described as an "elegant genius" since she can paint well and that she can play the violin. She also has admirers who like her talent. But the admirer we see in this picture at the left, is none other than Masanori, one of Chibiusa's classmates and also Michiru's student. Chibiusa had a crush on Masanori, but it seems Masanori admires his art teacher, even sculpting a figure of Michiru as an angel. ^^
And the "maternal" Michiru is also loved by little Hotaru who lovingly calls her "Michiru-mama." In the manga, Michiru can be seen helping little Hotaru dress up and doing other special things to help her.
Gentle, peaceful, mysterious and elegant, the senshi of the ocean truly mirrors the power she holds.
