"Mars Star Power, make up!" From this new henshin (transform) phrase, Sailormars becomes more powerful and summons a new attack.

After Luna and Artemis gives the sailor senshi their new henshin pens, Rei encounters yet another adventure. This time, her grandfather wants to put up "Protect Este," a school that teaches 'girls' how to fight and protect themselves.

To make the long story short (since this is about attack series -_^), Rei and her grandfather get into trouble with Cooan, of the Black Moon family, whose droid (monster in season R), successfully knocked down the old man. Rei vows to avenge her grandfather, and this is the first time she uses Burning Mandala.

In this attack, Rei draws a big circle of fire around her and gathers some of the fire left in her hands. Symbols surround her and she releases all this power at the droid.

In Hindu belief, the mandala represents the self and this is usually represented in a circle. It's probably this spiritual meaning behind the mandala that Takeuchi-san chose in connection with Sailormars's attack since she is a very spiritual senshi.

Burning Mandala was the attack used by Sailormars from season R up to the first part of Season Super S. I've never seen it used again after that, which is unlike Fire Soul, which was used again in the Super S movie.

Burning Mandala remains to be one of the most beautiful attacks among the senshi, with great details of Sailormars's hair flowing as she draws her circle of fire!
