This Update's Special: Akouryou, Taisan!
Part 2 of a 3 part series on Hino Rei, Shinto priestess

Her anti-evil paper, called an ofuda, is written "Evil Spirit, Begone!" in Kanji. The knowledge in this Shinto "spell" is very much an asset by the spiritual girl we know as Hino Rei.

Rin, pyou, tou.."Rin, pyou, tou, shai, kai, zen, retsu, shai, zen. Akouryou taisan!" This is what Hino Rei chants as a spell to ward off any evil spirit. The first few
chants are that of Rei counting. She even uses this while meditating by the fire.

The spell actually stuns or paralyzes the youma. And the way she used this as plain Rei or as

Sailormars with anti-evil
Sailormars ranged from dramatic to funny! (and yet very useful) There was one time during the movie (Sailormoon R), where she used this against several people who were possesed by the Kisenian flower (the paper multiplied! a very cool scene!) And another in Season Sailormoon S, where she tossed the paper to Unazuki-san, whose heart crystal was taken and wanted to kiss every one!

Used in meditation
The chant that is also used in meditation, as here....Rei always seems to be so keen on finding the answers. The fire usually shows her the answers.

Is this my ofuda?
