"Hale" means house/home... On the island of Maui, which is where I was born and raised, consists of a mountain 10,023 feet above sea level, called "Haleakala", "House of the Rising Sun."
"Aloha"... many of you may know this Hawaiian word. This word has many meanings to it. The main meaning of this word is "to give love." "Aloha" is used as a greeting, like hello, goodbye, etc. "Aloha" is the way to spread your love and thoughtfulness to someone that you care about.
"Mahalo" means thank you. So when I am saying "Mahaloz," that means thanks.
"Ono" means delicious. When I use the word "ono," like "that food was ono," that means that the food is good or delicious.
Well... that was just a brief definition of some Hawaiian words. There are many different Hawaiian words used in Hawaii today along with our slang called, "pidgin." "Pidgin" consists of many different culture languages, like Japanese, Chinese, Hawaiian, Filipino, etc. My page consists of "pidgin," so some of you may have a hard time understanding my homepage, but bear with me... ok. It is easy to catch on... Mahaloz once again for dropping by... I really appreciate it!
