Magic Knight Rayearth Character Profiles

This used to be my little pictures page, but then I accidentally uploaded too many files and ran outta space, so I'm making this the character profiles page!!! If I made any mistakes, or you have any questions or comments, please email me and tell me!! These descriptions are from my own point of view, so if you wanted to know the facts (what CLAMP wrote about the characters as to hobbies, etc.) BUY THE MANGA!

I'm trying to find all SD pix for the characters, but I can't seem to find many so...please bear with me! Also..the format for this page is screwed. I tried to fix it...but...*jen doesn't know enough html*

Hikaru Shidou: Hikaru is my fave character!! She's fourteen years old but looks a lot younger. When she's nervous, scared, or distressed, she often becomes this little SD figure with cat's ears and tail. But even though she's small and tomboyish (figures, she has three brothers), she seems to be something like the leader of the Magic Knights and in the second series, you find out that she has the strongest heart of all three knights. She wields a big sword and has the power of fire. Her mashin is called "Rayearth" and she's the first one to realize how to use her powers.

Umi Ryuuzaki: Umi is the same age and in the same grade as Hikaru, though they go to different schools. She's supposedly really pretty, like a model or something, and she goes to a rich-kid school. She's an only child, and has the worst temper of the three knights...it's funny to see her screaming her head off at Hikaru (most of the time) and Fuu (sometimes), as well as Clef. She is really good at fencing, and has a rapier-type weapon and the power of water. Her mashin is called "Selece" or something like that.

Fuu Hououji: Fuu is the same age and in the same grade as Hikaru and Umi, and goes to yet another school. She's really intellectual, and so far in her life, I think Ferio was the only one to call her "stupid". She has a sister, and she seems to be the calmest, nicest knight...what I mean is, she seems quiet and sweet. She also seems to have a somewhat morbid sense of humor. Her weapon is this HUGE sword thing (it's taller than her...scary) and she has the power of wind, which she can use to heal wounds. Her mashin is called "Windemoor" or something like that... Plus, she has a nice boyfriend called Ferio....hehe =)

Ferio: Ferio is this dude that wields a huge sword. The knights met him in the "silent forest" (well...that's what the Chinese translation said...), this forest full of weird monsters. Fuu made a deal with Ferio: she'd take him to the forest's exit (he had been lost in the forest for a VERY long time) if he would protect the knights on the way there. It seems that on the way to the forest's exit Ferio fell for Fuu. In the manga, he gives her one of his earrings. In the anime, he gives her something else...I forget what. Later (in the second series) you find out that Ferio is actually Princess Emeraude's brother! And if I do say so myself, he's pretty cute.

Clef: Clef is this man who looks like a kid and carries a huge staff. He's the number one...uh...well....I can't really describe it! guru? magician? wizard??...in Cephiro. But he does magic and he's wise and very very powerful. On coming to Cephiro, the knights met Clef and he told them that they had to save Princess Emeraude. Even though he looks like a kid, he's 700+ years old and he gets treated really rudely by Umi at first because he's such a midget! (heehee) In the anime, I believe he had a thing for Presea...? I'm not too sure. He knows probably the most about the situation (besides Zagato) in the first series, but doesn't tell anyone...don't ask me why! But anyways, I think in the manga he resembles an alien! (no offense to those of you who like him...I still think he's pretty cute!)

Presea: Presea lives in a forest in a house with MOKONA!! She's always getting pissed off at him for messing up her library, etc., etc... in one of her first scenes, she's in SD form, doing a little victory dance after she thinks she's finally caught Mokona messing up her library. She's a weapon master-type...she has a room full of a huge variety of weapons and has the power to make special weapons...she makes personalized weapons for the knights. However, every time she makes new weapons she uses up a bit of her "heart". The effort leaves her exhausted. What I wonder is...in the anime, does she or does she not have a thing going with Clef?? But she's a really kewl character anyway though she doesn't really do any fighting or whatever...at least, not in the manga. I believe she does a little in the anime.

Alcione: The first of Zagato's "henchmen" (I guess you could call it that...) to attack the knights, Alcione is pretty evil looking and evil sounding but she does all these "bad" things because she's in love with Zagato and just wants to please him. In fact I feel quite sorry for her. She tries to kill Umi, but underestimates the knights and gets beaten up pretty badly by Hikaru and Umi, who finally learn (from Clef, or with help from Clef) how to use their powers. Fuu also learns to use her powers to heal. But when Alcione goes back, defeated, to Zagato, he destroys her for failing him. Zagato acts so mean and ruthless...that's what makes it so surprising at the end....READ the manga summaries if you want to know what happens... But anyway.....Alcione was pretty cool while she lasted.

Ascot: The second of Zagato's "henchmen" (really dislike that word...reminds me of Carmen SanDiego), Ascot looks like his SD figure ALL THE TIME, except in the second series when he grows up...he has that ability..to control how old he looks, I mean. And he grows up for Umi's sake, because he has a crush on her. He appears in the 1st series when the knights arrive at the special place where Umi needs to prove herself to the mashin "Selece"..or rather, to the dragon, which is "her" creature. If Umi proves herself to the legendary dragon/mashin, it will then come anytime she needs it for battle or whatever. Ascot was sent by Zagato to destroy the knights (with help from some monster friends) while Umi is taking the test. But Ascot gets reformed when Umi yells at him (she yells a lot!). And he STILL falls for her even after she hollers at him. Or maybe because she yelled at him, I don't know.

Caldina: Caldina isn't a native of Cephiro...she came from another country (Chizeta?) where she used to be a dancer. She works for Zagato for the money. She first appears when it's Fuu's turn to prove herself to the mashin "Windemoor" (??) or rather, the phoenix. I think Caldina's pretty kewl, even though her outfit is kind of weird and well...never mind. But she definitely has a thing going with Lafarga (is it Lafarga or Lafargo?? AAACK!). Caldina uses her dancing to cast spells (something like that)... she was able to hypnotize Hikaru and Umi, and then to control Fuu's movements. But Fuu still beat her, and Caldina gave it up because she figured the money didn't really matter enough to her to put her all into it. She loves making fun of Ascot about Umi, though!

Lafarga: Lafarga didn't really choose to work for Zagato... he's actually just kind of hypnotized, something like that. Actually, his main goal was to rescue Princess Emeraude but Zagato got him under his power first. Lafarga is the last to come forth, he appears when Hikaru is finally trying to prove herself to the mashin "Rayearth", or rather, to the wolf-type creature(I think it's supposed to be a lion, according to Hikaru's name, but...). Lafarga tries to defeat Hikaru in a sort of one-on-one sword match...he was about to kill her using her sword when the sword became fire. The knights' weapons can only be used by the individual knights. But Lafarga got snapped out of his little phase-thing, and turns up again in the second series, as do all the characters except the princess and Zagato...(hint,hint)

No picture yet, sorry!

Emeraude: Princess Emeraude is the "pillar" of Cephiro....the well-being of the world and its occupants relies on her heart. Because of the disturbance within her heart and because it wasn't concentrated completely on Cephiro, the world was full of monsters and other bad things. So she sent a message to another world (supposedly our world), summoning the three "legendary Magic Knights" to save the world of Cephiro from its course towards destruction, which is how Hikaru, Umi, and Fuu got into the world. Unfortunately, the princess is kidnapped by the priest-type person of Cephiro (I can't really describe it...) called Zagato. No one knows what really happened...except maybe Clef, Presea, and.....Mokona?

No picture yet, sorry!

Zagato: Zagato was the "evil priest" type...he kidnapped Princess Emeraude and kept sending out henchmen to try to kill the knights. Eventually he battled them himself. Gee, I wonder who won. He was always looking and sounding really evil, and kept acting so cruel, but...at the end you get a shocker...and the story makes a sad turn....NO MORE SPOILERS! If you want to know,...read the manga summaries i wrote.

Nope...no picture for this one either, sorry!!

Mokona: Puupuu, puupuu puupuu! That's Mokona! Mokona is the little bunny creature that hops around with this eternal smile on his face, "puupuu"-ing all over the place... He's always carefree, hopping back and forth and into Hikaru's arms. However, you're in for a big surprise at the end...just think about this question: WHO is Mokona?

If you're done here...go back to Magic Knights Rayearth!
