*sigh* OHBOY. this one gets complex. but i'm too tired to explain! oh fine. here goes...but it's gonna be SHORT.
hitomi is this track star who is good at sprinting. (but she's pretty good at everything....sometime during the anime you see her long-jumping skills...) she's trying to get her 100m down to 13 seconds (something like that).... Anyway. she's got this pendant necklace that her grandmother gave her, and she's in love with this guy (another track star) at her school, Amano-sempai. anyway, she asks him...if she can run the 100 under 13 seconds (i think)...would he give her her first kiss? something like that. he is to use her pendant as a timer, since her pendant will swing once every second. (weird eh? no friction? yeah) And did I mention Hitomi also has a tarot-card hobby? she's pretty accurate too. she can read the future.
while she's running, a bright flash of light appears and this guy who we later learn to be Van Fanel appears wielding a sword. oh yeah, a dragon appears too. :) Van is trying to kill the dragon. Hitomi stops. she eventually ends up helping Van kill the dragon, only then, her pendant starts glowing, and she gets zapped back to Van's world with him...Gaea.
Back in Gaea there's a ton of chaos....cuz this weird Zaibach Empire is invading all the other kingdoms and all sorts of weird stuff is happening. Van and Hitomi go on this huge adventure, along with Van's childhood cat-friend Merle (annoying as crap) and Allen Schezar, a knight (who Hitomi has a crush on at first...though it seems he has feelings for one of the princesses of the country he defends). On the way they find out a whole ton of things...about themselves...each other...balbhalh. more than once Hitomi uses her pendant or her special psychic powers to see the future or to "see" invisible enemies (the Zaibach have these invisibility capes or something that make them invisible...).
Somehow along the way she falls for Van. and vice-versa. AND they defeat Zaibach. and change fate. and...there're a lot of twists in the plot. I DON'T DO IT JUSTICE! BELIEVE ME, THIS SERIES IS GOOD. GO WATCH IT. i don't wanna give too much away (plus i'm tired...)....so go! shoo! now! use any search engine!
OH! and it has a beeaaautiful score! maaya sakamoto is hitomi's voice and she sings a lot of the songs that you hear played in the series. personally i really love maaya's voice...it's very pure. well that's the only way i can describe it :P but the instrumentals of the series are really good, too.
back to anime/manga....
