alritey...i'm getting quite lazy, so this's what you're gonna get. a joint thing on multiple manga series if i can manage it. anyway. Masakazu Katsura draws shounen manga...the series are sort of ecchi...okay, maybe not SORT OF, but REALLY...depends which ones, there're a lot of closeups of girls and stuff, sorta yucky...but yeah. the storylines are pretty interesting and stuff.
1. Video Girl Ai
Video Girl Ai is supposedly a really good series. I never read the manga; I saw the anime but it really didn't impress me much. (AGHGHHH! You have no idea what a drag it is to work on a laptop...dumb touch-pad-mouse thingy....every time i move my hand too much while i'm typing i accidentally hit it and it does all sorts of weird things to what i'm typing...) Either way the basic storyline is really good and really sad, from what I can gather reading the translations. It's about this guy...ergh, forget his name...Youta Moteuchi. He's in love with this girl called Moemi. She's pretty and sweet and blahblah, and he's head over heels. Only thing is, he doesn't really stand a chance. I think he confessed his love and got rejected or something. While he's broken-hearted, he comes across this Gokuraku video store or something, run by this old guy. There's lots of..videos about girls? Dun remember whether this was really rated PG. ^_- anyway. The video shop only appears to the pure-hearted, but Youta doesn't find out till later. He goes and rents a video from the old guy. When he goes home and plays it on his VCR though, the girl hops out of the screen! Her name's Ai Amano and she's a "video girl"....supposed to like, satisfy every whim of the guy who rents the video. So she is to stay with Youta until the tape is done playing in the VCR. Then she goes back into the video and has to be returned. Anyway, she tries to help Youta out with his dumb love problems, all the while falling in love with Youta herself...even though she has to pose as his sister to Moemi...and yeah. I think Youta starts to fall in love with Ai, too, but then her running time is almost out...and complications with Youta's crappy VCR also tend to mess things up...either way, Ai has to eventually go back to the Video world. No matter how much she wants to stay. The head video dude, Rolex, who makes all the video girls, won't allow any video girls to stay humans or whatever and if any of them fall in love...well...they get terminated. The old guy at the shop is apprehensive, but he sees how strong Ai and Youta's love gets and tries to help them. Then there's this huge battle with Rolex.....while Youta is trying to write a story...and there's different endings in the anime and the manga, so go check it out yourself.

Darn ecchi series. I only have the first three volumes cuz they came out around the same time in Chinese, and my mom got conned into buying them cuz the saleslady said it was a reeeeeeeeeally good series and, well, my mom's gullible that way. Either way, from what I've read the series is all about some guy who's in love with some sweet unattainable girl (sorta like Youta and Moemi)...the thing is, she's not AS far beyond his reach as Moemi was to Youta....and he's trying all sorts of things to get her to like him. But in crashes the ex-girlfriend, who was actually just a childhood playmate to the guy...she used to live next door till she moved to America. She comes back though, and she's had a crush on him all along though she tries not to show it and even to sorta help him with this girl he's in love with. And then along come a whole bunch of other girls falling head over heels in love with this grundgey guy who I really do not see the good points of....but yeah. It's just like...tons of girls falling over one guy, and this guy's dumb disgusting fantasies about the girl. Sorry, do I sound really mean? Cuz it's just that I'm a girl and well, I don't really like the series cuz there's too much nudity and like...gross guy thoughts. This guy has too many hormones raging.
