Okay, Vampire Princess Miyu sounds sort of...creepy. But it's a really good series! I enjoyed watching the anime more than the Video Girl Ai anime...(I associate them cuz they were on the same tape that I borrowed from a friend) I'm talking about the 4 episode OAV here, I think, not the original tv series.
Basically, the plot goes like this: a spiritualist named Himiko starts investigating certain odd cases and meets a vampire named Miyu...who is the last of the Vampire clan. Miyu's job is to return stray Shinma (supernatural beings that are like...gods or demons or whatever) back to the Dark where they belong. She's frozen for like eternity in her current age until she returns the stray Shinma back to the Dark. Helping her is Larva, who was once head of the Occident Shinma or something like that. He was supposed to kill Miyu, but somehow ended up giving her some of his blood and helping her capture stray Shinma as her eternal slave (....he's hot ;)..in a mysterious-guy-in-dark-cape-with-sharp-nails kind of way)
Anyway....Miyu relies on blood for sustenance...so she drinks ppl's blood like any vampire. Only, whoever she takes blood from is put into a strange dreamlike state; they will remain in that state for eternity, living whatever life in their dreams that they want. She's pretty much attracted to beautiful young men or something. And her victims all let her take their blood willingly, cuz they want to live with beautiful dreams for the rest of their lives...
So yeah...the series continues as Miyu banishes new Shinma, and takes blood when she needs it. Himiko eventually finds out some disturbing things about her relationship with Miyu. And a lot of people speculate about Miyu and Larva's relationship. ;) I think the series is pretty interesting....
