7/28/01: i am currently hard at work translating this manga...i haven't gotten to the essays yet but i'm progressing nicely in the actual comics-part. so i'll try and finish that up in the next week or so, and then i'll start on the essays if i have time. (they're harder to do though, because i'm not really sure how things work in japanese. i'm translating directly from the chinese version since chinese is MUCH easier for me to understand...)
this is a cute, sweet collection of short-stories from CLAMP. it really has no plot at all and may be lacking when it comes to most of the stuff you look for in stories...but either way, i like it very, very much. so =P
anyway. each story is focused on a different emotion or experience that girls will have while they're in love. for example the first story is called "Chigau," which means "different," and involves a girl wanting to be a "different person" so she'll be able to apologize and make up with her boyfriend.
all the stories are like that. aren't they cute??!?!? =) =) =) yes they are. stop grimacing! =P Anyway...yes, admittedly it is a VERY girly manga...there are watercolor pictures, pastelly colors, etc. I mean, the translated title in mandarin is something about...err..girls' feelings being poetry or something weird like that. =) and there are a lot of essay-type things in there, like there's a couple pages of essay after each story. it was sort of a drag to read them cuz my chinese reading level still isn't all that great. *sigh* but yeah....definitely worth looking at if you're a hopeless romantic type. ^_^
now go back to anime/manga....
