A 14-year-old junior high schooler named Serena rescues a small black cat, which appears in her bedroom to tell her that she is Sailor Moon, a superheroine destined to save the world from the evil Negaverse. Serena transforms into Sailor Moon with her moon locket, and battles her first monster, which is terrorizing her best friend Molly's family jewelry store. The mysterious Tuxedo Mask appears to give Sailor Moon a confidence boost.
Serena and hundreds of other girls are mesmerized by a romantic radio show, which is actually a front for Jadeite, a general of the Negaverse. Serena uses the Luna Pen to disguise herself and sneak into the radio station to stop Jadeite's energy-stealing scheme.
Serena is convinced that she is overweight, so she and her friends decide to visit a local gym. Luna discovers that Jadeite is using the gym to steal energy from the patrons, so Sailor Moon fights off a pack of Negaverse-affected gym instructors to foil Jadeite's plan.
Serena and Molly want to be superstars like the model Saffron, and Jadeite realizes the potential for gathering humans' energy. He organizes a talent show with a Saffron-mimicking monster as the host, but Sailor Moon breaks it up with a little help from Tuxedo Mask.
Serena befriends Ami, a very intelligent new student at Crossroads Junior High. Luna discovers a mind-controlling program on one of Ami's floppy disks and suspects her of being in league with the Negaverse. When Serena and Luna arrive at Ami's after-school computer class, they discover that Ami is actually Sailor Mercury, and that the computer school was the source of the negavibes.
Jadeite's newest scheme involves clocks that speed up time and make people use up energy faster. Serena and Ami go after the villians at the clock store to put a stop to the evil scheme, and both are frozen in time! Thank goodness for Tuxedo Mask!
Buses near the Cherry Hill Temple are disappearing! When Serena, Ami, and Luna arrive to investigate, they discover a mysterious girl named Rei, who Luna suspects to be Sailor Mars. Rei, using her mystical powers, realizes that a new temple employee named Jed is behind the disappearances, but he banishes her to the Negaverse before she can fight him. Serena disguises herself as a flight attendant and slips on to one of the disappearing buses to help Rei and fight the evil at its source.
The Sailor Scouts visit a new amusement park where many people have recently been reported missing. The Scouts discover that people are being lured into the Dreamland Castle for sweets, where the Princess-disguised Negamonster steals their energy. Sailor Moon and Mars are trapped in a dream when they try to help Ami, but Tuxedo Mask arrives to snap them out of it, and the Scouts finish off the monster with teamwork.
Rei wins two tickets for a romantic cruise and invites Ami to go with her. A disgruntled Serena disguises herself as a photographer to sneak on board, and she and Luna discover that this is no ordinary cruise line! Jadeite is captaining a ship to steal all the guests' energy, but he didn't expect the Sailor Scouts to be among the guests!
Queen Beryl gives Jadeite an ultimatum: Finish the Sailor Scouts or else! Jadeite challenges the Scouts to a duel at the airport, but the Sailor Scouts injure him critically by working together. Needless to say, Queen Beryl is not very forgiving. . . .
Jadeite's replacement, Neflite, has some new energy-gathering ideas. His first target is Katy, Molly's childhood friend. Neflite endows Katy's tennis racket with the Negaforce, to gather her energy when it's at the maximum level, and Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask battle the monster that results when Katy hits her peak.
A developing company wants to build an office building on the site of Fairview Park, where Ami's friend Mr. Baxter is the groundskeeper. Neflite possesses Mr. Baxter with energy from the Negaverse, and Ami and Serena get in quite a tangle trying to battle the evil Negamonster which is freed when Mr. Baxter reaches his maximum energy. Luckily, Sailor Mars and Tuxedo Mask arrive to help out!
Miss Lambert, the sewing teacher, is getting married! Unfortunately, Neflite infects her dress material with the Negaforce, and she becomes obsessed with making the perfect wedding dress for the Hawaiian Honeymoon contest. Serena and the Scouts have their suspicions, and Serena disguises herself to participate in the competition. When Miss Lambert arrives to disrupt the contest, the Scouts are ready!
An award-winning photography student at Rei's school is Neflite's next target, and Serena enters in his Negaverse-inspired model shoot. Luna suspects that something is amiss, and she delays Serena so that she arrives just in time to see the girls in front of the camera -- disappear! The Negamonster that erupts from the camera manages to capture Luna, Ami, and Rei in pictures, but Serena manages to beat her single-handedly -- with some help from a mirror!
Sammy's best friend Mika designs beautiful dolls, but Neflite gets his hands on one and begins to build up Mika's energy. The Scouts are visiting the doll exhibition when Mika's energy reaches its peak, and the Sailor Scouts find themselves face to face with an evil Negamonster. Ami uses her VR Visor to locate the monster's weak point, and Sailor Moon's tiara finishes her off!
Neflite invites all the girls from Crossroads Junior High to a meeting with Tuxedo Mask, and he suspects Molly of being Sailor Moon when she arrives first. Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask show up as Neflite/Tuxedo Mask steals Molly's energy, and they narrowly escape from Neflite's Leo monster and a hijacked elevator.
Laurie and Cassie are working on the new Sailor V movie, until Neflite warps Laurie's lucky pencil. When Ami recognizes Neflite as Maxfield Stanton, she follows him to the animation school and suspects that he's tampered with Laurie. The Sailor Scouts battle the Gemini twins that appear when Laurie reaches her maximum energy level and beat them easily by combining their powers.
Luna suspects that the visiting Princess Diamond may actually be the Moon Princess, and her famous Imperial Crystal may be the Silver Crystal the scouts have been looking for. Queen Beryl has her eyes on the princess as well, and Neflite is sent to steal the crystal. Serena disguises herself with the Luna Pen to sneak into the embassy party and dances with the mysterious Tuxedo Mask, while Neflite is using Molly to get to the Princess! The Sailor Scouts fight off Neflite's evil presence, but they discover that Princess Diamond is not the Moon Princess after all.
Serena tries to tell Molly that Maxfield Stanton is evil, but Molly is too much in love to care. Molly steals one of her mother's priceless gems, thinking it's the Silver Moon Crystal and hoping to help Neflite. When the Sailor Scouts drop in, Molly defends Neflite because he protected her from one of Zoicite's henchmen. Surely he can't be all bad!
Molly unwittingly leads Neflite to Serena, and he discovers that she is really Sailor Moon! Zoicite kidnaps Molly in a plan to trap Neflite and get the star crystal, but Neflite rescues her. Zoicite's flunkies follow them to the park and injure Neflite critically, and he sacrifices himself in order to protect Molly from their attack.
A new girl has transferred to Crossroads Junior High! Lita was kicked out of her old school for fighting, but her karate isn't her only strength! Luna realizes that Lita is actually Sailor Jupiter during a battle with Game Machine Man, an evil Negamonster released when Zoicite extracted the rainbow crystal from Game Machine Joe. Luna produces the Crescent Moon Wand, which Sailor Moon uses to heal the monster and return Joe to his normal self.
Molly has been very depressed over the loss of Neflite, so Serena and Melvin invite her to take a walk to cheer her up. Little do they know, Zoicite has found her next victim nearby, but Tuxedo Mask manages to find the rainbow crystal before Zoicite, and Melvin rescues Molly from the Shadow Warrior that is born of the crystal carrier. Tuxedo Mask helps Sailor Moon and Sailor Jupiter defeat the Negamonster, and Sailor Moon uses her new Crescent Moon Wand to heal the crystal carrier.
The next crystal carrier is Greg, a new student in Ami's class. Greg has the power to foretell the future, so he's not surprised when Zoicite arrives and tries to steal the crystal. Serena had been trying to set up Ami and Greg, so the two Sailor Scouts are on the scene to protect Greg from Zoicite. The presence of Zoicite's black crystal causes Greg to transform into a Shadow Warrior, but because of his feelings for Ami, he turns on Zoicite, causing her to lose the rainbow crystal to Ami. The Sailor Scouts won't give up until they've returned Greg to normal!
Serena and her friends visit a local art gallery, and the artist asks Serena and Darien to model for her. Unfortunately, poor Peggy is Zoicite's next target for the rainbow crystals. Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask challenge Zoicite for the crystal, but she tricks Tuxedo Mask and escapes with it. Tuxedo Mask informs Sailor Moon that even though he is on the Scouts' side, he will stop at nothing to obtain all the rainbow crystals so that he can find the key to his lost memories.
Serena and Lita are heartbroken when they learn that Andrew has a girlfriend. Zoicite has other plans for Rita -- she wants the rainbow crystal hidden inside her! Serena and Lita are nearby when Zoicite attacks Andrew and Rita, so they manage to heal Rita pretty quickly. Again, Tuxedo Mask battles Zoicite for the crystal, and she tricks him into thinking she's relinquished it to him and runs off with it.
Rei's Grandpa is Zoicite's next target! Grandpa manages to hold his own against Zoicite during their first confrontation, but he falls off the roof in the process. Rei begins to worry about her grandfather, especially when he starts training Chad, a rock star with stage fright, to take over at the temple when he's gone. Serena returns to the temple to apologize to Rei for trying to set her up with Chad, and she arrives just in time to battle the Negamonster that is formed when Zoicite retrieves the sixth rainbow crystal.
Luna is rescued from alley cats by Hercules, a fat cat that just happens to be the carrier of the seventh rainbow crystal. Zoicite suspects that Hercules' owner is the crystal carrier and tries to kidnap the little girl, but the Scouts are there to defend her. Zoicite then realizes that Hercules has the crystal, and she chases Hercules and Luna through the sewers, only to lose the crystal to Tuxedo Mask.
Serena convinces Melvin to be more romantic toward Molly, but she never expected him to dress up like Tuxedo Mask! Molly invites Melvin to see the Wacky World Wrestlers with her, and Zoicite follows so that she can trap Molly and force Sailor Moon to give up her rainbow crystal as ransom. Tuxedo Mask appears to help Sailor Moon, but Zoicite tricks him and escapes with Sailor Moon's rainbow crystal.
Zoicite and Malachite work together to trap all the Sailor Scouts and lure Tuxedo Mask to them, but before they can get Tuxedo Mask's two rainbow crystals, Sailor Venus arrives and injures Malachite, forcing him to release the other Scouts! Now, all five Scouts have been united!
Zoicite challenges Darien to a winner-takes-all battle for the Rainbow crystals, and Serena is accidentally caught up in the fight. Serena's and Darien's secret identities are revealed to each other, but that's not all -- Darien is critically injured, and Sailor Moon discovers that she is the Moon Princess when the rainbow crystals combine to form the Empyrean Silver Crystal!
In his injured state, Darien is kidnapped by the Negaverse, and Queen Beryl decides to get rid of Zoicite, since she disobeyed an order and deliberately injured Tuxedo Mask. An enraged Malachite challenges the Sailor Scouts, and Sailor Moon uses her new powers to protect her friends.
Serena is very depressed over Darien's disappearance. Mina decides to cheer her up by taking her to a brand-new salon offering free make-overs and hair cuts. Malachite turns the salon owner into a monster in an attempt to get the Empyrean Silver Crystal from Sailor Moon, but Tuxedo Mask arrives in time to save the day! But who's side is he on?
Serena wants to attend the Rose Finishing School to learn how to be a princess. And she's in luck -- the only requirement is being able to throw the discus! Hmm, a little suspicious? Unfortunately, Countess Rose has been turned into a Negamonster, but Sailor Moon, Venus, and Mars are there to heal her and save the other students!
The Scouts plan on taking a ski vacation, and Chad volunteers his family's chalet. Rei and Serena decide to enter the Moon Princess skiing contest, even though Serena has never skied before in her life! Malachite has corrupted last year's contest winner, and she sets traps to isolate Serena and Rei in an attempt to get the crystal. Tuxedo Mask fights the Negamonster, but he informs the Scouts that he still wants the Empyrean Silver Crystal.
Janelle and Misha, the world-champion ice skating duo, are giving free lessons to girls in groups of five! Why aren't the Scouts more wary of these situations?!? Lita is an excellent skater, so the two Negaverse-twisted skaters suspect her of being Sailor Moon, who was a magnificent skater during the Silver Millenium. When the two skaters try to capture Lita and force her to give up the crystal, Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask skate to her rescue!
Serena and her family are on vacation at the hot springs. Prince Darien unleashes a legendary monster from a nearby lake, and it takes all the Sailor Scouts plus a little help from Tuxedo Mask to heal the troubled spirit. Unfortunately, the brainwashed Tuxedo Mask is still loyal to the Negaverse.
Darien's newest plan involves recapturing the rainbow crystal carriers. Sailor Mercury and Greg hide in a closed amusement park to avoid Darien, but he finds them and captures Greg within the dark crystal. Sailor Mercury manages to steal the crystal and free all of its prisoners by herself, because Tuxedo Mask underestimates her. Sailor Moon heals Tuxedo Mask with the Crescent Moon Wand, but Beryl snatches him back to the Negaverse.
Are the Sailor Scouts breaking up? That's what they want the Negaverse to think! The Scouts hope that the Negaverse will try to get Sailor Moon to join their side, so the other Scouts would have a chance to study the portal to the Negaverse and maybe find a way to rescue Darien. Sailor Moon is in too much danger, so the plan has to be aborted.
In an effort to find an entrance to the Negaverse, the Sailor Scouts are transported to the Moon Kingdom, where Queen Serenity brings back their memories of the past. When the Scouts return to Earth, they find that the cats have been injured by Malachite! The Sailor Scouts work together to fight Malachite, and Sailor Moon defeats him with his own weapon.
This is it -- the final battle! Sailor Moon is separated from the other Scouts, one by one, until she is left to face Queen Beryl alone. She heals Prince Darien with her locket, and an enraged Queen Beryl tries to destroy Sailor Moon forever! Through the support and love of her friends, Princess Serena finds the strength to defeat Beryl and seal her into the Negaverse.
