Sailor Moon!

In the very first episode of Sailor Moon we are introduced to a clutzy but well-meaning teenager named Serena. It becomes clear that although she may not be very punctual, graceful, or studious, she proves herself to be very caring.

When Serena rescues a stray cat from some bullies, the last thing she expects is for the cat to visit her in her room that night! The cat introduces herself as Luna, one of the guardians of the Moon Kingdom, Serena's real home. Luna explains part of Serena's forgotten past -- that she is actually Sailor Moon, and that she is sworn to fight evil and help those in trouble. Luna gives Serena a pretty locket and tells her to say "Moon Prism Power," and to Serena's surprise, she becomes a superheroine, just like her favorite comic book character, Sailor V!

Before Sailor Moon has a chance to learn how to use any of her new-found powers, an evil monster from the Negaverse attacks the jewelry store owned by the family of Serena's best friend Molly. Sailor Moon arrives to challenge the monster and quickly realizes that she has no idea what to do, now that the Negamonster's attention is focused on her! A mysterious man named Tuxedo Mask arrives to help Sailor Moon, and Luna teaches her how to use her tiara as a weapon to defeat the monster.

So, all in one evening, Serena discovers her secret identity, fights an terrifying monster, and meets the man of her dreams. It's no wonder that she's overwhelmed!
