This level of training usually begins from intermediate to advance training or once a student starts to display technique application and delivery. Combination training simply is were students are taught to break routine techniques and adapt a new methods during a attack sequence. When a punch is thrown, you start to block and grab the attacker, but suddenly the attacker becomes aware of your intensions, so they change their attack, once the attack sequence has been changed, you need to adapt quickly to the change and counter that attack to stay in control.
