Kaeshi Waza: Counter Techniques
This level of training usually begins from intermediate to advance training or once a student starts to display technique application and delivery. Combination training simply is were students are taught to break routine techniques and adapt a new methods during a attack sequence. When a punch is thrown, you start to block and grab the attacker, but suddenly the attacker becomes aware of your intensions, so they change their attack, once the attack sequence has been changed, you need to adapt quickly to the change and counter that attack to stay in control.
Jodan - High Level Strikes (Head and Neck)
Chudan - Mid Level Strikes (Shoulders to Top Hips)
Gedan - Low Level Strikes (Hips to Feet)
Kihon Uchi Kata: Combination Attacks
Simply means that a student after learning a variety of techniques successfully, needs to learn to put them into a combination attack, so the student becomes explosive in their defense and attack delivery towards the attacker, catching them by surprise.
Jodan - High Level Head and Neck
Chudan - Mid Level Shoulders to Top Hips
Gedan - Low Level Strikes Hips to Feet
Randori: Sparring
Very important for a student in learning to apply combinations and to be able to counter attack, by practicing them with a fellow student in a play fight scenario. Here the student will practice unarmed combat skills including ground work fighting and armed combat.

Ranshi Waza: Flesh Grabs
The ability to control your attacker, by utilizing painful flesh grabs to different parts of the body. Involves grabbing muscle tendons, loose skin, chest, face, neck. underarms ect.

Kyusho Jutsu: Vital Point Attacks
Involves more advanced training in attacking the attacker by having knowledge of human anatomy and parts of the body that can cause injury through non-vital, vital and deadly attacks on certain parts of the human body. Also know in Chinese as Dim Mak. Mostly only non-vital techniques are taught, like pressure points, stun points ect of the body, allowing you enough to get control or to disappear quickly. More advanced stuff shown only selected to black belt students.
