About the Ninja

The Japanese Ninja was thought to existed as far back as the 10th century and could be located in the regions of the Iga and Koga Mountains of Ancient Japan. Where and how the art of Ninjutsu come from, is still not 100% clear, but it was believed the techniques came from Buddhist monks traveling throughout the Asian countries. There are traces of ninjutsu similarities in techniques amongst some Tibetan styles of martial arts.

Like Mentioned before, the art of Nin-po first originated in the areas of Koga and Iga Mountains. There were two clans living in both these regions of the mountains know as the Iga Ryu and the Koga Ryu. From these two clans came Iga Ryu Nin-po and Koga Ryu Nin-po. It was from these two forms of ninjutsu that the other systems of ninjutsu originated.

In Japan alone, there is known to be over one hundred different clans / systems of Ninjutsu. Some of these specialized in one area of the total Ninjutsu combat systems, some specialized in four or five others the whole art of ninjutsu from A to Z.

No other martial arts in the world is surrounded by so much secrecy, illusion and misunderstanding. The fact is Ninjutsu is not like other martial arts. The fighting system of Ninjutsu is more like that of what you would see used by soldiers in the Special Forces of our militaries with a big emphasis on spiritual training and enlightenment of the universal workings.

The ninja was in ancient times a spy, skilled in the areas combat, assassination, espionage, manipulation, survival, sabotage and reconnoitring. There work was dangerous and most ninja died a very young age.

Large majorities of ninja personal were women, known as "Kunochici, the deadly sister." Because the ninja was skilled in the art of manipulation, they used the female to seduce men with sex over a period of time, to gain the information, complete their mission or even assassinate the person who they seduced.

The ninja was not like the Samurai, who believed in loyalty and honour. A ninja was the opposite to a Samurai, they would crawl and beg for there life, and when the first sign of sorrow for the ninja would show, the ninja would take that opportunity to then kill that person. A ninja would never show their face, in fact if caught, they would deface them-self through cutting off or burning their face, so their captures would not be able to identify them and trace them back to their clan or family.

What really separates the art of ninjutsu from any other martial science, is that being a ninja warrior was not just killing and gathering information or ruining in the dark in a black out fit, but was also the development of spiritual enlightenment, harmony with the elements and a understanding of the universal laws.

To master the techniques of ninjutsu was nothing if a ninja could not master themselves and their surroundings. This is why ninjutsu can not be called a martial arts, because it is more then just combat, it is a way of life that has existed for over eleven centuries of war and peace.
