This was the first series in the whole Police Cadet series; actually, this was the BEST one. Cheung Wai Kit (Tony Leung), who also got really famous after this series, starts everything out by signing up to be a cadet with his friend (Lair Fong). They get in and have a lot of fun times with the other Cadets (Wong Chong Si, Poon Wung Bun, Yim Sel Wah, and Eddie Kwan). Hou Jie (Eddie Kwan) is a guy who cries and is scared of everything; his uncle owns a business and makes him go to cadet school to learn how to be more brave. Kit also meets Yu Fong (Andy Lau Ching Wan)who was already a policeman.
Meanwhile, Cheung Wai Kit, who was raised up by his poor mother (Sow Hung Shin) finds out that his biological father (Lau Siu Ming) is a rich man who dumped his mother and married another woman (Lou Laun). They also have a son, Gau Ming (Dai Zi Wai) who was a big guy in the police force, and a daughter, Gau Mun. After two years, Kit and all his friends graduate from Cadet school and go on to be policemen, except for Hou Jie who goes back to his uncle's company. Two girls, Yin Zi (Maggie Cheung Man Yuk) and Gan Bui Mui (Wong Tao Si), both like Kit but he chooses Yin Zi and Mui gets married. Kit is sent to a village for his first assignment and solves a lot of cases.
As Kit becomes better at his job, he got promoted and worked with Fong, who was then going out with Mun. Unfortunately, Fong was wounded on assignment, becomes crippled, and quits the police force; he goes to Thailand and gets involved in illegal dealings. Ming, who's really a bad guy, tries to also get Kit in trouble because he thinks that Kit is the illegal son of his father. Yin Zi then works at Hou Jie's company and he begins to ask her out. Fong then returns, marries Mun and they have a kid. But he also becomes involved in the triads. Chan Hou Tak (Poon Wung Bun), who was of the cadets, also quits being a policeman and joins Hou Jie in business. However, he kills somebody and takes control of Hou Jie's uncle. Hou Jie knows about the killing but is scared to say anything. At this time, Yin Zi, mad because Kit never spent time with her, accepts Jie's wedding purposal.
At the end, through a bunch of convoluted events, Kit ends up having to chase down his cadet friend (Chan Hou Tak), watch his half brother suicide, and arrest his brother-n-law. Hou Jie and his uncle go to jail Another sad thing is that none of the other cadets remained in the police force, some were fired, went to jail, or just quitted. The ending is with Kit and Yin Zi sitting in a restaurant. They just look at each other so we never know if they got back together or not.

When Shurn was young, his parents escaped from the Mainland to Hong Kong and lived in the poor shacks. Unfortunately, Shurn's parents died in a fire when they tried to save their neighbors. Shurn wandered the streets until he met Yu Lo Wai (Ng Maun Tak) who adopted him; Shurn had to help raise his new younger brother and sister, Ah Fak (William So) and Ah Lai (Carrie Choi). Yu Lo Wai wasn't a bad guy but he liked to gamble, drink, go to clubs, and yell at people but he was good at heart. His biggest enemy was (Lam Geen Ming), the head of a club, who used to be his neighbor. In fact. her daughter, Guo Shet Mei (Shallin Tse Ling) used to play with Shurn until they moved away and her mother forced her to be a prostitute.

This was one of Yung Mei Ling's most memorable series. It was funny, touching, and a great story about Barbara and Tony. At that time, Barbara had gotten famous from starring in Legend of the Condor Heroes and Tony from Police Cadet '84. In this series, Chow Geem Hong (Tony Leung) has two dads Ah Mao (Ha Yu) and Ah Wing (Lau Tan) and no one ever finds out who his biological father is. Tse Bik Wah (Barbara Yung) bumps into him when she is chasing a criminal and he thinks she's a callgirl when she is really a policeman. They argue a lot in the beginning but then they like each other. However, Hong also meets Sai Mun (Money Chan) who is a lawyer; she likes him but he also treats her like a little sister. Kwan Hoi San, a rich man, gave her money for studying and he has a grandson, Gong Tin Wai (Ray Lair), who likes her. A love rectangle develop between the four.
Meanwhile, Ah Mao and Ah Wing both like Pui Pui (Au Yeung Pui San), a too nice and frivolous callgirl. The three of them created some hilarious scenes. She later quits her job and marries Ah Wing. Ah Wing then discovers that he is the son of Kwan Hoi San and though they weren't sure if Hong was his son, he became the grandson of a rich man overnight. He works in his grandfather's jewelry business. Wai hates him because he knows that Mun likes him and that creates problems. In order to solve things, Mun agrees to marry Wai. At the same time, Wah is afraid that people might think she wants Hong for his money so she leaves for England to study.
In Kwan Hoi San's family, Wai's uncle (Liu Gong) wants to take over and he tries to kill Kwai Hoi San. Other people at the company also don't respect Hong so his grandfather sends him to an old man to learn more about jewelry. When he comes back, more problems with the company develop. Ah Mao, who couldn't marry Pui Pui and did not have a rich father, was upset so Wai's uncle tricked him into some illegal dealings. But things were cleared up and he did not go to jail. However, after all this convoluted stuff, which would take a novel to explain, the bad guys get arrested. Wah comes back from England and reunite with Hong. At the end, there is a perfectly happy ending.

This was an awesome cop story that revolved around a secret police group in Hong Kong. They are involved in international as well as local crime; their headquarters are located in Paris. The whole series is divided into four or five (I forgot) cases where the group cracks the case and arrests the criminal.
Four members are part of the group. Tai Z or Prince (Sak Sel) is considered the brain of the group; he knows all the tricks and is a brave guy. He also is serious and never cracks a joke during the wholes series. Sak Yun Jie (Chan Sau Chu) is the smart and brave lady cop who sometimes uses her looks and charm to trick the criminals. Her name literally means Sister Killer. The third member is Lo Hung (Lau Siu Ming); his name is hard to translate 'cause there's no direct word for it. It kind of means an old and experienced man with a streetwise attitude. He sort of displays that during the movie. Bok Chok Bo Bo is the coolest member of the group although he doesn't think much. He has great Kung-fu and other fighting skills and usually does the dangerous feats. He owns this big gun in most of the episodes.
In the first one, the SIB gang is sent to catch a large illegal trade in Hong Kong working its way into the Phillipines and Thailand. The leader is (Ray Leung), don't know his name in the series. Sak Yun Jie has to pretend to fall for him and find out all the secrets; however, she ends up liking him for real and that complicates things. But, as the drug gang experience some inner struggle and fighting, the SIB gang is able to get them. Sak Yun Jie is really sad at the end 'cuz Ray Leung dies.
The second one was named "Gum Pai Sak Sel" or Hired Killer. Here, the SIB Group has to catch this hit and run Killer, Ah Wah (Austin Wai) who had been killing some big guys. Tai Zi is sent to act as an undercover agent this time; he pretends to be a friend to Ah Wah and gets into his house in the countryside of Hong Kong. However, Tai Zi learns that Ah Wah is a good son to his mother and has his reasons for murdering and he doesn't really want to kill him at the end. Ah Wah dies in an explosion at the end. I don't remember much about the third one except that the SIB gang had to get this bad guy (Kenneth Tsang) who was tricking girls to be prostitutes in Malaysia. When they went there, they were murdered mysteriously.
