The whole Kinomoto family plus Yukito are going to out for a vacation trip. Sakura was very happy as they were on their way. Yukito was passing some canned juice to the group. Yukito asked Sakura as to why she didn't put her bag in the trunk of the car. Sakura nervously told him that it is because it is just small. Yukito was puzzled by her answer. While Touya was giving directions with the help of a map, Fujitaka told them that they are going to a rest house of the university's math teacher and that since that teacher went abroad, they can use it for a while. Yukito apologized for being with their family trip. Fujitaka told him that it is more fun if there are more people and that it would be nice if Tomoyo come along. Sakura agreed with him.
They then, arrived in a large house. Sakura was very happy since they are going to stay there for two days. As the guys put the things in, Fujitaka told Sakura that there is a children's room at the second floor. Sakura immediately went to the room and saw how nice it was. She was so excited that she laid on the bed and crushing the bag she brought along. Kerberos immediately came out of the bag and scolded Sakura for forgetting about him. Sakura apologized and tried to cover it up by saying that the room was nice. Kerberos told her that it is not an excuse for trying to flatten him. Sakura went down the stairs and saw her brother and Yukito preparing to go out. Touya told her that they will be going out to buy some food. Yukito asked her if she would come. Fujitaka suggested that Sakura go sightseeing and look at the beautiful house that they have passed by a while ago. Sakura agreed to do that while the others went out. As she left, Fujitaka looked at Nadeshiko's picture and held it.
Sakura, who brought along Kerberos, saw the large mansion. Suddenly, someone called out, 'miss'. Sakura looked around to find the person who called her as Kerberos quickly hide in the bushes. Sakura then saw an old man in a veranda, sitting in a table with a tea set. The old man called out to her and Sakura went to him. The old man commented that she was very cute and asked if she had lost her way. Sakura told him that she was not and she is living at a nearby house. The old man said that he does not remember seeing a girl like her in that house. Sakura explained to him that they had just borrowed the house and were staying there for the meantime. The old man asked her name and Sakura told him that she was Sakura Kinomoto. The old man asked if she was in a hurry. Sakura shook her head. The old man then invited her to tea to which, Sakura gladly accepted.
Later on, Sakura and the others were preparing a barbecue. Yukito commented that Touya is very good at barbecuing and asked if he learned it from his parttime job. Touya told him that it is in a chicken barbecue restaurant. Sakura thinks that her brother works anywhere. Fujitaka then asked Sakura how was her sightseeing. Sakura told him that it was fun and she even met a grandpa in the large mansion. [Note: Sakura calls the old man as Grandpa since she is being polite even though they have no relation] Fujitaka looked surprised. Sakura then told her father that the grandpa even asked her to play with him tomorrow. Fujitaka smiled and told her that she can go since this is a good thing for she'll have more friends. Sakura happily agreed.
At night, Sakura called Tomoyo. They greeted each other and Sakura told her about the place they were staying. Tomoyo told her that she couldn't come since they have a choir competition. Sakura told her that she will support her. Tomoyo then told her that she will call back after the competition. Then, they hung up. Kerberos asked if she was going back at the grandpa's house. Sakura told him, yes. Kerberos then told her that she should bring some snacks for him. Then, Kerberos turned off the night and they slept.
The next morning, Sakura told the others that she will be going. Yukito told her to be careful. Fujitaka then brought out a nicely ribbon-tied small bundle. Fujitaka told her that he made these cookies yesterday and asked her to bring it to the grandpa as a gift. Sakura thanked him. Fujitaka told her to say hi for him to the grandpa and Sakura said, yes as she went off. Fujitaka then slightly smiled as he looked at Nadeshiko's picture on the picnic table.
Sakura was looking for the grandpa at the mansion. The old man called out to her from the balcony and asked her to come up the house. Sakura went in and was impress by how large and beautiful the place was. The old man told her that he was upstairs and Sakura immediately went up to the room where the old man was calling her in. Sakura was surprised by all the preparations that the old man did. There was a small clothed table with a tea set. The old man just smiled then pulled the chair to sit Sakura. Sakura embarrassingly, thanked him and the old man told her that it was nothing. The old man then said that it was like when his granddaughter comes. Sakura while drinking the tea, asked him where the granddaughter was. The old man became sad and told her that she had early on, went to heaven. Sakura cried and apologized. The old man told her not to apologized and asked her to smile for girls looks nice when they smile. So, Sakura smiled.
Sakura then brought out her small bundle of cookies and told the old man that it was from his father. Then, the old man seemed to have became sad again so Sakura was puzzled. The old man then thanked her and asked what Sakura's father was like. Sakura happily told him that he was very nice, a university teacher and knows how to sew. The old man asked if she likes her father very much and Sakura said yes. Sakura was happy when the old man tasted the cookies and told her that they were delicious. The grandpa then invited her to go to her granddaughter's room.
Sakura went into the room and commented that it was very cute. The room had a bed with a curtain and nice antique-type furnitures. The old man then showed her something. After some time, Sakura peeked out and blushingly, asked if it was his granddaughter's. The old man smiled and told her that it fits her. Sakura came out with a nice outfit which consists of a hat, a nice dress with a lot of layers and shoes with ribbons. The old man told her that it was her granddaughter's favorite outfit. The old man with some tears in his eyes said that they were very much alike then asked Sakura to keep the outfit. Sakura immediately protested but the old man told her that it will make his granddaughter happy. So, Sakura smiled and accepted his gift. Sakura then asked about the drawing on the wall and asked if it was his granddaughter's. The old man told her, yes. The old man said that his granddaughter drew it because he likes rainbows and always after the rain, a rainbow can be seen outside the balcony of his granddaughter's room. Sakura comments that it was nice drawing and the old man said his granddaughter is a nice child. Outside the room, a woman overhears what they were saying.
Sakura came home and Touya opened the door. Touya was surprised by her outfit and asked where she got it as Yukito told her it looked cute. Sakura immediately went upstairs and told her brother that it was given to her by the grandpa. Touya wondered if it was the grandpa yesterday for that they have only met yesterday and he already gave Sakura a dress. Yukito still smiling said that the dress really suits Sakura. Sakura abruptly opened the door to her room and called out to Kerberos. Kerberos angrily told her that she shouldn't do that since he was playing gameboy. Then, he was surprised when he saw Sakura's dress that he immediately asked if Tomoyo had already came and made that dress for her. Sakura sweatdrops and explained everything to him. Kerberos asked her what the grandpa likes since Sakura wants to give something in return to the grandpa. Sakura told him that he likes rainbows. Kerberos then whispers his suggestion.
The next day, Sakura went to the mansion, wearing the dress. The grandpa asked why she was still wearing it. Sakura told him that it was because they are already going home and she told him that she had a great time. The old man said that he had a great time, too. Sakura then asked the old man to go to his granddaughter's room to the balcony and look outside. The old man agreed. Sakura went off then stopped and told the old man that she thinks that his granddaughter is with her [Sakura] mother in heaven which is a beautiful place. She also said that her brother told her that when her parents were married, they were very happy so her mother will surely be in a very beautiful place. Sakura added that, so she think that his granddaughter is also in a very beautiful place. The old man cried a little and sadly, thanked Sakura as Sakura waved goodbye.
Sakura immediately ran to the bushes and hide. Kerberos asked her that it would be okay here. Sakura then used 'Watery' to create rain and since it is still sunny that day, out came a rainbow. The old man who was out in the balcony while holding his granddaughter's picture was suprised and asked if the rainbow was what Sakura wanted him to see. The old man then was puzzled as to how Sakura made the rainbow appear. The woman eavesdropping a while ago, called out to the old man as 'grandpa' The old man thanked the woman for accompanying him. The woman turned out to be Sonomi. Sonomi told him that it was like playing hide n' seek, not letting Sakura see her prepare tea and everything. The old man looked up and said that his great granddaughter seems to be very happy, going to really happy place. The old man looked at the picture and said that it seems that Fujitaka is a good man. Sonomi says that it was because Nadeshiko chose him. Nadeshiko's name was written at the back of the picture.
On the car, Sakura thinks that the grandpa had seen the rainbow. Touya teased Sakura as to when she plans to wear the dress. Sakura told him that she will remove it later on. Touya while glancing out the window asked as to whose the big house was. Fujitaka told him that there was a grandpa there who always have vacations with his granddaughter at the house. Sakura was surprised and asked how he also knew about it. Fujitaka smiled at the picture of Nadeshiko placed on the dashboard. As the car went by the road, there was an overlooking rainbow.
