Kazuomi dreamt of his childhood - he was shooting a ball in the basketball net and Ringo was impress. His father came and brought some banana cakes. Kazuomi and Ringo loves this cake. Kazuomi told his father that he will strive hard and will grow up fast so that he and his father can play basketball together. His father pats Kazuomi's head. The alarm clock rings and Kazuomi wishes to eat banana cake. He shut off the alarm and as he stretches, says to himself that today is the basketball audition. Then, his shoulder hurt so he was a bit worried.
There was a taping for the show and Ringo was worried about Kazuomi's audition. Mahito gave Ringo a drink and asked her what is the matter. Ringo says that it is nothing and thinks that she has to be happy for the taping will start soon. Mahito reminded Ringo about her birthday on the 10th of October and says that he will give something to her. Ringo was very happy to be able to get a gift from Mahito. Watanabe came and told them that there will be a guest cook for the show and Ringo was surprised that it was Ayanna.
During the basketball auditions, Kazuomi kept on making mistakes and he was very frustrated. The coach came and asked him if he is sick but Kazuomi says that he is fine. The coach says that he was dissappointed with his performance for he thought that Kazuomi could have done better. In the locker room, Kazuomi's two higher batchmates/sempai asked him what is the matter with him and that if he isn't going to do any better in the auditions, he shouldn't have joined for they were embarrassed by him. They says that Kazuomi was just a proud freshman as they grab Kazuomi's shirt.
In the show, Ayanna told them that she had joined an audition so that she can be a guest cook. During the show, Ayanna showed a small-layered cake and tells them that it is a good thing that everything match since in the cake, there are red beans and tea. Ayanna continues that her grandfather does not like western cakes so instead of jam, she used honey. Ringo admired Ayanna's ingenuity then Mahito commented that Ayanna can be of the same level with Ringo. After the show, Watanabe comments of Ayanna's cake and Ayanna says that she might be a guest again some other time. Ringo thought that if it weren't for Kazuomi, she wouldn't be here and if her secret will be known, Ayanna might even replace her. Watanabe gave her the next recipe assignment from a viewer who desires to make a cake with fruits but it doesn't need to be cooked in an oven.
Ringo's mother was happy that Ringo had already returned home and they were off to Kazuomi's house to eat there since their kitchen is still being repaired. As they enter, Ringo remembered Kazuomi's audition and wondered if it turned out alright. As they sat, they saw that all the dishes were unappetizing and yucky. Kazuomi then apologizes and says that he can't do anything right that day. Kazuomi went into his room. Ringo asked Kaede about the audition. Kaede says that it didn't went out okay and that it wasn't Ringo's fault. Kaede continues to say that Kazuomi didn't want Ringo to know about it and the wound on his lip was caused by being beaten up by his sempai so Kazuomi plans to back out from the basketball team. Kaede adds that Kazuomi wants to play basketball like his father who had died in an accident so he tries his best to be in the team but like his father, he is very stubborn so Kazuomi didn't tell anyone that he was injured. Kaede ends that Kazuomi really loves to play basketball and he really doesn't want to give it up. Ringo knocks at Kazuomi's door, telling him that it was her. Kazuomi, sitting behind the door, says that he is sorry for he wants to be alone.
At school, Michiyo asks about Kazuomi's absence and Ringo says that he has a cold. Ayanna tried to intimidate Ringo about her studying to be a good cook but Ringo just told her that Ayanna is really better than her, then left. Ayanna thinks that she will try her best to embarrass Ringo. Ringo thinks that she isn't a great cook like Ayanna and she doesn't know how to help Kazuomi. She then thought that it will be nice for Kazuomi to get it over with, so that she can taste Kazuomi's prepared foods for she loved them. Ringo then had an idea.
After school, she went to Kazuomi's house and asked Kaede to teach her how to make a banana cake. As Ringo cooks the cake, she remembers that this is what Kazuomi likes for it is made by his father. Ringo went to Kazuomi's room and asked him to taste what she has made for the show. Kazuomi was surprised that it was banana cake. Kazuomi asked if Ringo made it all by herself and Ringo says that his mother had helped her to do it. Ringo continues that this is one recipe that his mother has not forgetten. Kazuomi says that his mother works so his father was the one who usually cook for them. Ringo smiles and says that Kazuomi is very like his father then Ringo encourages Kazuomi to eat the cake. Kazuomi tastes it and says that is like his father's then Kazuomi starts to say some comments about preventing the bananas to change color and others. Ringo quickly write them down as Kazuomi ordered.
Kazuomi then went to school and told his two sempai that he will back out from the basketball team. His sempai asked him about his injury and told him to give it a rest for a week before practicing again. Kazuomi asked how did they knew. The other sempai said that the girl from the television confronted all the basketball players one-by-one to tell them that Kazuomi is injuired because of her. Kazuomi thought that it was Ringo.
At Kazuomi's house, Ringo, her mother and Kaede were praising Kazuomi's food. Kazuomi was so happy that his touch wasn't dulled then start to move his shoulder that it hurt him. Out in the balcony, Kazuomi thanked Ringo and said that the banana cake was deicious so she must be improving. Ringo says that if she sees Kazuomi happy then she is also happy. Ringo leaning on the rail, adds that now, she isn't like Kazuomi but she is happy if she can make delicious food. Kazuomi was about to hold Ringo's shoulder when Ringo shouted that there is a shooting star. Kazuomi was surprised and Ringo asked him what is the matter because of his expression. Kazuomi says that it is nothing. Ringo then thinks that someday she will be able to fulfill her dream.
