Prologue A guy is talking to two girls."So...so...I am really grateful for the time you two have spent with me. Really! I'm not lying to you two!! Bu..but...ah...I cannot choose only one..."
The girl with a tan complexion says, "The most important is...will you. . . ."
And, the girl with a lighter complexion says, "say 'sorry' to us?"
And the story starts,
Ami Uzuki [fair complexion] is very angry. Ami tells Noa Kurosawa [dark complexion] that she chose the wrong guy again and she hates herself when heremotions get the best of her which makes her blind for a moment. Noa says that it is very strange since according to the magazine, this month's love fate is really good and that there can be only one cause. Amy wonders that she does not know how many times this has happened [being rejected] to her and Noa who are rivals in love.
Noa is sitting at the cafe while at the other side, Ami is in a ramen house. Noa shouts to Ami that Ami is the one who is destroying her love's fate. Ami shouts back that Noa should not blame others, in fact, the one who is destroying her is Noa and that Noa's love fate was never good anyway. The waiters of the respective restaurants ask them to quiet it down. Ami's ramen has arrived so she tells Noa that they will argue later on after she ate. Noa is irritated because she has not finished talking. A waitress gives Noa her milk tea. While eating her ramen, Ami tells herself that it has been like this always, after being rejected, Noa's voice is like a BGM [background music] and that for Noa, it is probably the same. Ami then shouts some more food orders.
Noa goes in and tells her that she will interupt Ami for a second because Ami is making too much noise while she is drinking her tea. Ami shows her tongue at Noa, apologize and tells Noa that she is not the same as her being refined and all. Ami orders again as Noa sweatdrops for Ami still wants to eat. Noa shouts in shock saying that Ami is picking on her tooth with a toothpick like an old woman.
Ami sighs and shouts, 'Up to when will this continue?! Why?! Why until now, I don't have a boyfriend!!' Noa says that it is what also what she want to say. Ami says that they always run after the same guy and compete because they are love rivals. Noa says that it has been a long time that this has been happening, ever since they are in kindergarten.
Flashbacks:
Scene 1: In kindergarten - Little Ami and Noa grabbed on a little boy who is shouting that he is afraid and calls for his mother. Another boy called the teacher that Ami and Noa are making the boy cry.
Scene 2: In camping - Ami has a net. Noa has a rope. They are trying to capture a boy.
Scene 3: In cooking class - Ami and Noa is forcing a boy to eat what they have cooked and baked. The food are yucky looking and are burnt.
Ami thinks to herself that they have only one goal that is to have a boyfriend. Ami shouts that she will definitely get one next time. Ami muses that being a girlfriend would really be fun, 'I want to have a tender loving relationship with a very handsome, very cool, very cute lover.' With determined looks, they swore that they will show each other who will get a boyfriend first. Ami tellsherself that she should hurry because she is already fifteen years old this spring.
During physical education, Ami makes a high jump and shows a V-sign as her teacher praises her. Noa appears and side comments that Ami is simple-minded and has a weak body. Noa asks her if her make-up phyical education test is finish. Some teachers praise Noa for having 'A's in her exams and that she has broken a record for having a high grade. Noa thanks them for their praises. Ami comments that she is just like a slave for education. Noa angrily shouts that Ami has no right to say that.
While fanning herself, Ami is thinking about their school having lots of girls but few boys. Then she falls asleep thinking, "My future boyfriend. . . where are you? When will I be chosen? I really wish that that I will meet you soon." Noa tries to wake up Ami because she is sleeping on Noa's desk.
Then, the day of opportunity arrives.
"Friendship party!?" shouts Ami. "with the students of another school!!" The teacher confirms it as she tells the excited Ami that there are few girls in that school. Ami immediately raises her hand as she shouts that she will go. Suddenly, someone holds on to Ami's raised hand. It is Noa who tells the teacher that she is also going.
In Ami's house, Ami blowdries her hair and puts on lipstick. Ami looks at the mirror. She is wearing a blouse and skirt. She comments that her outfit is okay and she looks very cute today. She also tells herself that she should not eat ramen for the next month because she has to save money and she will not let herself lose to Noa nor this golden opportunity. She met up with Noa who is wearing a sleeveless shirt and leopard design mini-skirt. Ami is jealous as she asks if it is a new outfit. Noa brags about her outfit as Ami side comments that if only Noa's skin is not so dark. Noa gets back at her by saying Ami has a very cute outfit but her chest is a bit flat.
Then, they arrive at a karaoke bar and they introduce themselves to the people there. To the shock of their lives, the boys they are going to meet are geeks, fat guys and other undesirable boys. The organizer apologizes since they asked a lot of schools to join that there has been some confusion. Sitting beside Ami who is stunned, is a guy who has eyeglasses and is dressed as a magical girl. He tells Ami how much the Sailor uniform, magic wand which looks like Sailormoon's, and his hairband with antenna cost. Ami cannot believe that this has happened then checks up on Noa. Noa is sitting between a fat guy who keeps on eating and another fat guy who smells bad since he has not taken a bath lately. Noa cannot take it any longer and she faints. Ami immediately rescues Noa and runs outside with Noa. She tells the others that they ned to rest.
They rest in the lobby.
Then, they hear a room being very noisy. They peek in and see two boys singing and they look good compare with those they left behind. Their eyes widen and they have found the guys they want. Everyone in the room is surprised as Ami and Noa with microphones introduce their song and themselves. Noa cannot believe she is doing this but Ami tells her that this is the only way to go. The two boys join them in their song. The dark haired boy is grateful for their help in entertaining. Ami apologizes for interrupting them. The two girls realize that the two boys and their group are already leaving so they chase after them.
Noa is a bit hesitant but Ami tells her that if she do not do this, she will regret it. They hide behind a corner and bushes. Noa tells her that if someone sees them, they will be thought of as bad girls. Ami tells her that they should not over-analyze what they are doing. When the boys walk in a corner, they suddenly disappear. Ami and Noa are shocked then the two boys are behind them. The dark haired boy asks, "You have been following us. . . what you do want?" to the two girls.
In a donut shop, the two boys introduce themselves. The dark haired boy is Tamon Okazaki while the light haired boy is Tomohiro Nakatsugawa. Ami and Noa are crying with joy, saying, "It is like a dream. Thank God that at long last, we found two potential boyfriends." Tamon asks what they want to talk about and they will listen. The two girls check out the two boys - their appearance, outfit, and any tell-tale gifts which might have come from a girlfriend. The two girls relax and they began to talk about karaoke and what they like to do.
Ami notices that she and Tamon has the same cellphone. Tamon tells her that they exchange their phone numbers. Ami tells herself that even she has practiced a lot of times, she has not yet memorized her phone number. Tamon then tells them that he want to order for some food. Tomohiro tells him that he should not eat too much then asks the girls if they want to order something. Noa tells him that she does not want anything but Ami jumps up and shouts that she want lots more. Noa pulls Ami's ear telling her they will be finish if she shows her gluttony. Ami tells her that she knows. Ami joins Tamon. Tomohiro asks Noa if they are really good friends. Noa immediately shouts in denial. Tomohiro asks why she is so surprised and if there is such an expression. Noa blushes.
Tamon gives Ami her tray as he asks her what she will order. Ami looks at him and blushes because she thinks Tamon is cute. Ami comments that many people seem to like him. Tamon tells her that it is not like that and it is actually far from it for he just like to go out with people but if it is about love, he does not like 'playing' love." Then, with a serious face, Tamon says, "I am looking for a girl who would truly love me." Tamo then winks and kind of embarrassed as he tells her, what is he talking about this to her. Ami blushes and holds herself. She talks to herself, "So cute. Everything's perfect. Those eyes, mouth, hair and voice. Come . . with me experience true love. Really!!"
Noa nervously drinks as she asks about Tomohiro's school. Tomohiro tells her that it is near her school. Noa comments that during the time that they do not know each other, they could have met. Tomohiro tells her, "If I have ever met you before, I would definitely. . . not forget you." Noa blushes.
In the women's room, Ami and Noa confides with each other whom they like. Ami says she likes Tamon while Noa says she likes Tomohiro. The two then held hands since they are glad that their 'target' is not the same and just be a little agressive, they can get a boyfriend. Suddenly, they realize that they are holding hands. Ami quickly tells Noa that even if heir 'target' is not the same, she will not help her. Noa agrees and that she will show Ami that she can do it with her own strength. They cried that even if it is a little late, they still feel the spring of their youth and they would have to have a good tactic to get their goal.
Meanwhile, the two boys are waiting for them. Tamon sees Ami's cellphone on the table and holds it. Later on, they bid goodbye to each other. The two girls tell each other to go home and continue the 'fight' there, then they separate ways as the two boys looks at them thoughfully.
At Ami's house, Ami keeps raving about the wonderful day she had. She has forgotten about the disastrous friendship party. Ami then tells herself that there is no more time, she has to get a facial and massage for the second stage of 'getting to know each other.' Ami blushes as she wonders if she would say good night to Tamon then she notices that the cellphone she is holding is not hers. Suddenly, it rings. She sees from the screen that it is her number so she realizes that it is Tamon who is calling her. Ami tells him that she just realize that she has the wrong cellphone. Tamon answers that it is already late so they should meet tomorrow. They decide on them place to meet and bid each other goodbye.
Ami is shaking in delight for she will already meet with Tamon the next day. Lying on a bed, Tamon says, "Okay. . . I have caught her." Meanwhile Ami thinks to herself that she will make sure that she gets a boyfriend before Noa and then, shouts, "The 'battle' begins!" Ami's mother shouts if Ami knows what time it is since Ami is making a racket.
