Tsukino Usagi: Defender of Love and Justice

And, here she is, the leader of the Sailor Senshi.  Blessed with the extraordinary power of the moon, she combats the forces of evil with the help of her friends.

Technically the second senshi to appear, after Sailor V in England, Usagi is the leader of the senshi and the binding force that holds them all together.  She first discovers her amazing destiny when her guardian, the black cat, Luna, confronts her with her transformation brooch.  Usagi was probably also the most reluctant of any of the senshi, having no desire to fight the forces of darkness.  However, she fought in despite of her feelings, determined to protect the innocent.      She has a naturally cheerful and outgoing personality, but can be very jealous sometimes, especially when Chibi-usa and Mamoru are concerned.  Late in the first season it is also revealed that Usagi is Princess Serenity from the Silver Millenium, and in Sailor Moon R she discovers that in the future she is Neo-Queen Serenity, ruler of Crystal Tokyo.       Usagi is the only inner senshi with a normal family, except perhaps Minako.  Her father, Kenji, and her mother, Ikuko, are still very much in love, and she even has a little brother named Shingo.  Now, though, she also considers Mamorou and occasionally Chibi-usa as family too.
