This the part of my site is for those concerned about the similarities and differences between Christianity and Buddhism.
I am a Christian Buddhist and others who use this page might identify themselves the same or perhaps as Buddhist Christians, Unitarian Universalists, spiritualists, seekers, non-sectarian, New-Agers, or just open minded people on an undefined spiritual path.
This is a page that with your suggestions will be helpful to all of us!

Some of you might enjoy the listserve I operate at Yahoo!Groups :

The list is getting well established. We now have 300+ members.

We discuss the similarities between Christianity & Buddhism as well as whether being a Christian/Buddhist or Buddhist/Christian is valid or possible. I have been a Christian/Buddhist for twelve years. It has been a constant challenge to me, but I believe I have worked it out theologically.
The easiest way I explain it is that I don't think of God as seperate from me, but at the same time I don't think of myself as "God".

Buddha and Christ were both great teachers. The Bible and the sutras both have great wisdom. I have studied Asian culture and Buddhism for fourteen years and I would like to talk about how Buddhism has become part of your spirituality even though you are a Christian.

I wish I had started the list in 1992 when I became a Christian Buddhist. At that time there were very few people to talk to who thought about being a Christian Buddhist. The persons were there but it was a very personal journey and not discussed as openly as I would like. I know there were Buddhist-Christian Dialogues but not in my area. A dialogue is also different than a matter of a person wishing to be both in a completely respective way, and not picking and choosing in an eclectic manner.

This is the tough path to follow, and I appreciate the help of those on the list.

They continue to post helpful, interesting, constructively critical, respectful, sensitive, and even plaintive written notes to this list.

Interview with Kim Boykin, author of "Zen for Christians: A Beginner's Guide"
This is a wonderful introduction to Zen for Christians who want to incorporate meditation into their spiritual lives. The interview was conducted for Whosoever, an online magazine for gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender Christians.

The Empty Bell: A Contemplative Sanctuary
The Empty Bell is a sanctuary for the study and practice of Christian meditation and prayer. Our purpose is to learn about the history and practice of the Christian contemplative way as rooted in the Gospels, and to explore its common ground with other ancient Wisdom teachings. We give special attention to the Christian-Buddhist dialogue to artistic expression of spiritual insight, and to the relationship between spirituality and stewardship of our bio-diverse natural world.

There are many great links also on the Empty Bell site-J.

A new dialog bulletin board has opened up at:
