They must be putting something in the water in Germany. Techno acts are emerging from the woodwork like paparazzi at a Royal skiing holiday. First there was Mark'Oh, the 24-year old ex hard rock guitarist who hit the charts last year with Tears Don't Lie. Now there's Interactive, whose debut single, due out in the UK on April 1st, brings much of the same style. Forever Young, already a European hit, is a cover of Alphaville's Number 1 hit back in the 80s, and has that inconsequential breeziness and non-stop drive that gets even the most reluctant clubber up onto the dance floor. And you get value for money, too, with no less than six different mixes by Red Jerry, Cocktail Twins and Chapter 9, and three 12" remixes. Not bad for a single, eh? Interactive are already huge on the Continent, following their 52-date "live techno tour". Perhaps the Germans would consider a deal. We'll buy your music if you buy our beef, and then we'll see them over here..... Matt Kelland UK Online Music 1996 |
