CHAPTER1...ME AND ANDRALA The story has a twist to it. Instead of Matrix and Andrala coming back to Mainframe in love. They come back to Mainframe just friends, and nothing more. The rest you have to read to find out. And if you have any comments send them to me at love_you_mase@hotmail.com. Don’t be shy....go ahead, read. Matrix is my name...a grown up Enzo. I live in Mainframe with my love Andrala, well not just yet...but she soon will be. And Bob, his the best. Dot, she’s my sis, I love her to death. My life is great in Mainframe, it would be better if I could have Andrala... I want her as something more than just a friend. But I could never tell her that I have feelings for her and that I love her more than life it’s self. I’m sitting in my apartment that I just bought in Mainframe, it’s nice...better than Bob’s place. If I didn’t mature in the games like I did, I would still have to stay with Bob and Dot...I love them but I can’t stand staying with them. Andrala...well she has her own place too, I offered her to stay with me...but she said no..although I wish would have said yes. Mouse and Ray...I have no idea what’s with the two of them...they ran off a long time ago, I’m not sure where they are now. It’s getting dark now and I’m feeling sleepy...but not that sleepy that I can’t call Andrala. We’ve been talking back and forth on the phone most of the time, when the games come I don’t really have time to meet somewhere with her and talk. I just hope she’s home...no never mind...I won’t call her...I can’t. I still remember that night...me and her, together alone. Ever sense that night we haven’t talked, I regret it in some ways. She was angry that night with me, but at first I thing she liked it when I had my arms around her...but I couldn’t tell. I mean I was so caught up with my emotions for her I wasn’t even thinking right. My hands, my lips...were just out of control, but after having her hand come across my face, I snapped out of it. Like I said before, I regret it in some ways. If I still remembered I know she still does, I’ll start from the beginning.......... “Matrix can you get the door please?” Andrala said as she shrugged to keep the groceries bags in her hands. She lifted one knee up so that the bag on her left wouldn’t fall. With her right hand she shuffled though her pocket to find her key. Matrix who was right behind her carrying a bigger load of groceries stepped forward. “Here I’ll get it.” he reached down into her pocket and moved his hand about trying to locate the key. Pushing his hand down deep into her pocket he grabbed whole of it. Andrala looked up at him, “Did you get it?” Matrix smiled, “Right here.” he dangled the key in front of her face. Andrala slightly laughed and notched Matrix to open the door. He opened the door with no hesitation, placing his bags down first he walked over to help Andrala with hers. Matrix took the heavy bags and some of the light ones, he set them down on the floor. Feeling relieved she placed the few she had left on the floor as well. Matrix grabbed for a couple of bags and carried them into the kitchen, Andrala did the same. “Thanks Matrix...I really needed your help.” Andrala said smiling as she placed her hand on his shoulder. Matrix looked up at her, “Hey, no problem.I couldn’t let you carry all those bags by yourself.” He grabbed a few cans from out of a plastic bag and placed them in the cabinet, “Why did you leave so late to go shopping?” he asked curbing up the empty plastic bag. Andrala finished placing some items in the refrigerator and answered, “I forgot and when I remembered I had to go shopping it was already late.” She grabbed another bag full of groceries, “Thank the Super Computer that you were there with me, I don’t think I could have carried all of those bags.” Matrix grinned, “I know you couldn’t have.” he notched her in the side lightly, making her jump in surprise. “What does that suppose to mean?” Andrala asked giggling, she notched him back. Matrix looked down at his feet still grinning, “Nothing..I didn’t say a word.” Andrala pulled his face up toward hers with her finger, they looked at each other. “You think I couldn’t have carried all those bags, that’s what you meant when you said that.” Matrix smiled, “I was just joking.” He rapped his hands around her waist, “ We should do this more often.” Andrala grabbed both his hands and pulled them from around her, “Matrix can we..um finish what we were doing.” She turned away from him and worked on another bag, Matrix did the same. It was quiet for a nanosecond but Matrix broke the silence. “That’s the last of it Andrala.” Pulling a chair from underneath the table he settled down in it. “Anything else you need done.” Andrala seat down next to him, “No, the rest I can do on my own...the dishes and the room cleaning I can do. You can stay if you like and watch some t.v. if you want.” Matrix got up, “You sure?” Andrala nodded, she got up too and headed to the sink to began washing the dishes. Matrix was now seating on the couch, his legs propped up on the dining table, the place was nice. The same color of her soft beautiful hair was the color of the long curtains that hang from her windows. The white creamy colored couches that felt like silk against Matrix’s skin went perfect with her curtains. Brown small square like dinning tables were placed on both sides of the t.v. He didn’t want to watch anything, he was just tired and wanted sleep. He leaned his head back, his eyes closed shut. Andrala still working on the dishes had noticed Matrix asleep. She wiped her hands with a towel and walked over to where Matrix was. Settling down next to him she gently rubbed the side of his face. “If you were tired why didn’t you go home?”she asked at a whisper. Matrix heard her and had felt her soft surfaced hand rub easily against his face. He smiled still having his eyes closed, “ I didn’t want to leave you so soon.” Andrala leaned over and hugged him, his eyes opened. “I’m so glad your my friend Matrix...your so sweet. Don’t ever change.” Matrix rapped his arms around her returning the favor, “I won’t.” She lifted her self off of him and stood, “Well if your going to stay...you can help. I thought I didn’t need your help but I do.” Matrix stood, “Sure I’ll help...tell me what I have to do.” Andrala walked over to the sink, Matrix followed. She handed him a wash cloth, “You dry while I wash...simple as that.” Matrix took the cloth from her, “Okay...but are you sure you want me to dry...let me help you wash them.” Andrala laughed, “Your acting like Enzo, you just dry and leave the dirty work to an expert.” He grabbed a wet plate and began to dry it, “ What you think I can’t wash dishes...I can, here let me show you.” He put the plate in the dish rack, standing in the back of Andrala he placed his hands over hers. Andrala looked over her shoulder, “What are you doing?” Sliding his hands back and forth over hers he spoke, “Showing you I can wash.” He dipped both their hands in the water which felt like ice. She looked down at her hands that were now in the water, grabbing hold a cup she began to wash, Matrix hands moved with hers. He settled himself closer to her, he wanted to be as close as he could get. Leaning forward alittle he whispered in her ear. “How am I doing so far?” Andrala was in thought the whole time, we’re friends, we can’t be doing this together. but I....... Andrala could feel his breath hit against her skin, goose bumps ran down her spine. She leaned back just alittle, resting her head against him. Kissing her lightly on the cheek he smiled, “I must be really good at this.” Andrala rested her eyes, she could still feel his hands moving over hers. This isn’t happening...what am I doing. His my friend...my friend.......not lover. I want him as a friend...nothing more. She quickly yanked her hands from his. She spun around, lifting her hand to his face, she slapped him. Matrix looked at her, he was hurt, not the pain from the hit but the pain in his heart. He rubbed the side of his face, “ What did I do?” Andrala turned away, “Have you forgotten Matrix that we’re friends...I bet you have, just leave...please.” Wiping her tears away she pointed toward the door. Matrix stepped forward, “ But Andrala......I........” She sharply turned around, “Leave now!” she yelled over her tears. Matrix slowly walked over to the door, he opened it. “Andrala I didn’t forget.” he said softly. He closed the door behind him, flipping out his zip-board he disappeared into the dark. After hearing the door close she flopped down in the couch, she cried harder. “Matrix...I didn’t mean to.” CHAPTER2...ANDRALA LET ME EXPLAIN Just thinking about that night still hurts me. I wanted to tell her right then and there but I couldn’t....I don’t know why. After that night, which was three cycles ago we sort of ran into each other at the diner. This time she wasn’t playing around, she was really mad. I want to talk to Bob about this but I just don’t have the time...with the games coming and all....I don’t think anyone has time to talk to each other anymore. It’s late but I still want to talk, I want to tell you more, tell you more about me and Andrala. Tomorrow I going over to her place...I won’t tell you why, not right now....when I’m ready I’ll tell you. That night when she told me she was glad I was her friend, her words struck at my heart. All she thinks of me is that I’m her friend...and nothing more. I’ll tell you what happen that cycle when I ran into her at the diner.............. Matrix sat down on the stool next to Bob, “I hope that we don’t have anymore games...I’m tired.” Bob looked over his shoulder at him, “Your not the only one. There’s been three games and they haven’t been easy. And with Andrala not around it’s been tuff, hey, were is she anyway.” Matrix looked down at his feet, “I haven’t seen her. Umm....hey Bob, want a shake?” Bob lifted a eye brow, “You sure you haven’t seen her?” Matrix shuck his head, “No...haven’t seen her.” Bob shrugged his shoulder, motioning Cecil over he asked for what he desired, “Can I get two shakes.” Cecil nodded and went to the back to get their drinks. In a nano Cecil was back, he handed them their shakes. Both Matrix and Bob gulped their drinks down. After finishing Bob spoke, “Dot is at the P.O. Want to go see her?” Matrix shuck his head, “No, that’s okay...I’ll stay here.” he took another gulp of his shake. Bob smiled, “Well I’ll stay here with you.” Matrix smiled back, “ You don’t have to.........go see Dot. I bet she needs your company.” Bob began to laugh, “Your talking about Dot her, she doesn’t need my company. She has those vid-widows and paper work to keep her company.” Matrix laughed along. But soon their laughing came to a stop. Andrala had just walked in. Bob got up from his seat, “Andrala where have you been?” she smiled, “At my place...sorry I haven’t been around.” Looking over to her left she noticed Matrix, she rolled her eyes. Settling down on a stool at the end of the diner she asked Cecil to get her a shake and biscuit. Cecil did what he was told and in a nanosecond he was back with her order. Sitting quietly over at the end of the diner she began to drink her shake. Matrix stared at her the whole time. Bob looked at Matrix, “Umm....is something wrong with you two. I mean usually ya’ll guys are talking up a storm and laughing your heads off. Am I the only one noticing that you two are....how shall I say this........acting alittle weird.” Matrix stopped his staring “Uh? umm.....nothing’s wrong.....with me and Andrala. We...decide to...just stop...um........talking......for awhile, that’s all.” Bob mouth dropped, “What!? stop talking, are you for real?” Matrix nodded. Bob took his seat, “Why did you two just stop talking?” He looked away, “I can’t tell you Bob. And even if I could I wouldn’t want to talk about it.” Placing his hand on his shoulder he spoke, “Matrix you can’t keep hiding this, what ever happen with you and Andrala needs to be know. I won’t tell anyone, you can trust me.” Matrix pushed his hand away, “All I’m going to say is that Andrala slapped me... because of something I did to her. And now she’s mad...and she won’t say a thing to me.” he said with a tone. Bob nodded, “I see....well have you tried talking with her, tell how you feel about all this?” Matrix shuck his head, “She won’t listen...it’s like she wants it to be like this.” Bob smiled and pointed over to were Andrala was, “Well she’s here, go talk to her.” Matrix turned around to face him, “What, right now?” Bob got up, he pushed Matrix off of the stool, “Go talk to her...tell her how you feel about all this.” Matrix stepped forward, “You think I should?” Bob nodded, “Now go.” Matrix slowly walked over to where Andrala was. He set down next to her, “Hey, Andrala.” She said nothing, she took a bite of her biscuit. “Andrala can I talk to you?” he said softly. Andrala looked at him, she narrowed her eyes, “No, I don’t want to talk at all.” Matrix gripped her hands in his, “Andrala please...I need to talk...I’m sorry....” She cut him off, “I said NO!!” she yelled. Yanking her hands away she grabbed for her cup, “I don’t want to talk to you or anybody! Just because you said sorry doesn’t make the pain I’m feeling go away!” Splashing the shake in Matrix face she got up. Getting up quickly he grabbed her hand, “Andrala wait....” Escaping his grip she ran out of the door, tears running down her face. Matrix called out to her, “Andrala......” Bob came over, “That didn’t go well like I thought.” Matrix lowered his head, “I told you...she wasn’t going to listen.” he said sadly. Bob came closer to him, “I’m sorry Matrix it’s my fault.” Heading back to his seat he wiped the shake off of his face, “It’s not your fault... it’s mine.” CHAPTER3...MY SECRET Now I have told you everything. It’s late, real late and I’m tired. I’m going to sleep so I’ll talk to you when I wake up. You can stay if you want, there is another bed in the other room. I don’t mind if you stay, just don’t mess with anything or I’ll get my gun and you don’t want that do you....just joking. If you get up early you can go with me when I go to Andrala place. I plan on going there. Sleep tight don’t let Megabyte bite. **************************************************************** Hey get up...I’m about to go to see Andrala. Guess you were really tired, I don’t know how many times I had to hit you. You coming or not? That’s more like it, oh and you might want to change... those clothes are kind of....well I won’t say anything. Just get dress and come on. **************************************************************** Well we’re here. I’m ready to tell you why I came here. I’m here to tell her the truth, tell her that I care for her and that I want to be more than just friends. I’m not going to let her push me away, I’m going to stay her till she listens to me. She doesn’t know you all that well so you better go hide, you can hide over there...where that tree is. I know soon you will have to leave, go back to your world so I’ll make it this quick. Yeah right over there, well wish me luck. ***************************************************************** Matrix took a deep breath, straightening his shoulder and lifting his head high he knocked on the door. He could hear her foot steps come closer and closer, in a nano she was at the door. Matrix smiled sheepishly, “Hi Andrala.” Folding her arms she looked at him in disgust, “What are you doing here?” He stepped forward, “I’m here to talk to you.” Andrala shuck her head, “I told you already Matrix I don’t want to..... He cut her off, “Andrala I know but I have to tell you something. Andrala...I love you...and nothing can change that. I have been hiding my feelings for you for so long....and now, I come to you with the truth. I want to be more than just friends...I can’t help it that I love you more than life it’s self. Please understand where I’m going from.” Andrala looked away, “But our friendship...I don’t want it to end.” Matrix smiled, he rapped his hands around her waist, “Our friendship will never end, the step we’re going to make together will make us closer, closer than just friends.” Andrala looked up at him, she started to cry, “ I was scared Matrix, but now I know I don’t have to be. The step that we’re going to make together with complete me...I was feeling so lonely but I know now that I won’t have to feel lonely anymore.” Matrix pushed back her aqua hair, “ I love you Andrala.” She smiled, “I love you too.” Hugging him tightly she laid her head on his firm chest, “Don’t you ever change.” Matrix lifted her face up toward him with his finger, he leaned over, pressing his lips together he kissed her, a passionate kiss. Letting her lips go he spoke softly, “I won’t. I promise you.” Unwrapping her hands from around him she walked back inside, she motioned him to follow. Matrix looked over his shoulder at the tree, “Good-bye friend.” Turning his attention back to Andrala he walked in, closing the door behind him. THE END
