Now that I have all the disclamers out of the way, I can stop worrying that someone will sue me. I had this one floating in my head for sometime and now I have it in ink and paper. Tell me what you think. If you like it I might make more. My address is Ladyjupiter@sailorjupiter.com Okay, I'm back with the same NA names. Someone complained that he didn't like the Japanese names, so now, I have to change it. This is confusing, so bear with me okay? I'll leave the translations here for now. Serena - Usagi Tsukino Rei - Rei (duh?)Hino Lita - Makoto Kino Mina- Minako Aino Ami - Ami Mizuno Darien - Mamoru Chiba (Tuxeedo Kamen) Ken- Shinosaki Miyake This takes place after my Jupiter Knight series and isn't in the Sailor Moon timeline by Naoko Takeuchi. If you want to read Jupiter Knight, go ahead, then you'll have a better background with this series. You can get Jupiter Knight from wherever you found this, maybe. Okay, I'll stop babbling now. Oh! One more thing, this is Jupiter based, for all you Jupiter fans. What do you expect? I'm a Jupiter fan. NOW I will shut up. UNDER THE MYST 2: "SWITCH" CRAFT Lita walked through the busy streets of Tokyo, looking for the right bus to board. She wanted to get away from all this racket and be alone. There was a difference between being alone and being lonely. She had been the latter many times, but this time, she wanted to be alone. She didn't want the noise of the city to invade her thoughts. Lita boarded the right bus and sat on one of the front seats. There were not a lot of people on the bus out of the city. Most people were going into the city. She looked out of the window as the bus left the city. The bus was passing the park on the outskirts of town. One side overlooked the ocean and the other side looked busy city. Makoto liked to sit on the highest hill and think. It was as if her whole world belonged there. On her stop, Lita got up from her seat and got ready to get off. Just as she was about to walk off, a man brushed pass her. "Move it sweety," the man said. The way he said "sweety" made her want to barf. "Hey watch it!" Lita called after him when she got off the bus. The man just kept on walking, not paying attention to her. Lita fumed at that. Everyone was in a hurry to get somewhere these days. "Men!" Lita started the long walk to the depth of the park. That was where she really felt at peace. Some of her anger wore off as she stomped to the park. Her backpack thumped against her as she trudged on. Her lunch felt much heavier that it actually was. "Stupid Men!" Lita angrily shouted, not caring if anyone heard. She shifted her backpack and walked faster. "Ken Miyake! You infuriate me. I don't ever want to see you!" Lita said to no one. She hadn't seen Lita for almost a month. There was no scout stuff that needed to be done. They had their weekly meeting, but since Ken now lived in another district, he didn't have to go. It was too long of a drive. The last time she saw him, she got mad as heck. Lita had run into him on the streets. Literally. She walked right into him. "Watch it Lita!" Ken shouted impatiently. He had called her Lita, not Lita-chan, that was his nickname for him just Lita. What made her even more mad was what he had said after. "Sorry, Kenny," Makoto apologized, even though it wasn't all her fault. "Just make sure this doesn't happen again, Lita! Don't call me by such a baby name." Ken instructed as if he was doing her a favor just talking to her. "Stupid Kenny, idiot!" Makoto still didn't call him by his full name. It was a habit since they were small to call each other nicknames. Lita plopped onto the soft patch of grass when she felt she was far enough from the city. She could no longer hear the city sounds, but could hear the ocean off in the background. She put her backpack down and spread out a towel. She took a seat on it and crossed her legs. "I hope I never see another man again!" Lita declared. She felt less angry now that her rage wore off. Reaching into the backpack, she drew out a lunchbox. She started to eat her lunch. Being this angry and walking so far had made her hungry. * * * * * * * * * Ken hung up the phone. Lita wasn't home. Her answereing machine picked it up. He hadn't spoken to her for so long. Ever since Loen showed up, he didn't want to talk to her. He knew Loen would do something if he found out the Ken felt for Lita. Loen was evil. The evilest of all evils. Ken looked down at the necklace he had on. There was no way of taking it off. Every time he tried, the pain was so great he would fall to his knees, wanting to cry out. "Lita-chan where are you? I'm sorry for all this pain I caused you." Ken said, looking up into the sky from his window. He had to see her. His life wouldn't be complete if he didn't see her. Ken wondered if he should tell Serena. After all, she was Sailor Moon, and she should be use to these things. But then, Lita would be hurt if she knew he told Serena before he told her. Yet again, if Loen found out what was going on between them, that they were bound by destiny, then Loen would surely annialate Lita. The dicision he made was to tell Lita. If he could find her. He called Mina's house, Ami's house, Rei's house and even Serena's house. All of them said the same thing. They didn't know where she was. "Do you think we should look for her?" Serena asked Ken over the phone. "No, I have an idea where she is," Ken assured her. Before Serena hung up, she asked something that's been on all of the girls minds, "What's up with you two? Poor Lita doesn't act the same. It's like she hates all men now. Don't you guys meet anymore? Is there something wrong between you guys?" "No, everything's going to be fine," Ken told her, he also said it to convince himself it was true. Ken hung up the phone and thought about where Lita was. He was sure she was at the park. That was where they use to hang out, before the scout business started. She was there, he could feel it. Ken grabbed his sweat shirt and dashed out the door. At the park, Ken looked around. Trails led to different parts. Which one would lead him to his happiness, Lita? Ken took the trail that led into the deeper part of the park. The trail that eventually led to the shore. He thought this was where Lita might be. Sure enough, he saw a girl sitting on a patch of grass slightly elevated so that she looked like little Miss Muffet sitting on a Tuffet. He smiled at that fairy tale. Life had been so simple back then and he took all of it for granted. Ken made his way up to where Lita was sitting. She had a bird perched on her finger and was feeding it some bread. Ken didn't want to interrupt her. The scene was so innocent. It was as if she didn't know about all the dangers and all the hate in the world. Lita always had a way of blocking out all the unwanted, Ken thought. He leaned against a tree watching her. "Take a picture, it lasts longer," Lita said, acknowledging his presence. Ken smiled. She always said that whenever she caught him staring at her. This time, she wasn't smiling. Lita sat beside her. He brought his knees to his chest and put his head on his knees. Lita tried to keep a wall between them, but she couldn't. Their love was too great. He looked so sad like that. She looked away. "I'm sorry, Lita-chan." Ken said, hugging his knees tighter. Lita looked at him. He really meant it. He really was sorry. Lita put a hand on Ken's hand. "What's wrong Kenny? Why were you acting so strange? Tell me, please?" Ken looked down on the grass. He didn't how to start. Maybe this was a mistake, coming to her. But it was done and had to be continued. "You know this necklace I have on?" Ken pointed to it, not daring to touch it. Lita nodded, afraid he would stop if she said anything. He looked like he was about to say something important, but stopped. "Kenny? You can tell me." Ken took a deep breath, "When I was at the hospital, something happened. Before my parents came in, in the middle of the night, this man came to me. He sort of appeared from no where. His name is Loen, and I think he's from the Negaverse. He put the necklace on me. Sometimes, it's like I can't control my actions. I just suddenly do things. Everytime I try to take it off, I can't. It hurts when I try. It hurts really bad." Lita got up and moved away from him. She stared out at the ocean with it's rippling tides slamming against the rocks. Everything looked normal, but she knew it wasn't. When will we ever get a break from fighting? When will we ever stop? Lita thought. Lita turned and saw Ken walk up to her. Lita put a hand on his necklace, then immediatly drew back. A bolt of what was like electricity went up her arm to her body. Lita doubled over in pain. She could see it hurt Ken as well, even though he was trying to hide it in his eyes. Ken helped Lita up again. "Kenny, why didn't you tell me this sooner? Is that why you acted like..." Lita didn't know what to say. She walked closer to the sound of the ocean. Ken continued for her, "Like a jerk?" Lita didn't answer, "I thought we could tell each other everything," She hugged herself against the cold sea breeze. Ken walked over and put her sweatshirt around her shoulders. He rubbed her shoulders, trying to warm her up. "I acted like that so Loen would think I despise you. Li- he watches me. He watches me like a hawk." "You should have told me." "I didn't know what to do. If he knew who you are. Who you are to me, he'll use you like blackmail. I can't endanger you. Do you know how many times I almost lost you?" "You should have told me, Kenny. I though we could trust each other?" Lita repeated. Ken looked down, "I didn't want you to get hurt. I don't know what's happening now. It's been days since I've seen Loen, I think he's gone for now, but I know he'll be back. Please don't be mad, Lita." Lita let out a sigh, "I'm not mad. But what are we going to do? I think we sould tell Luna and Serena." "I just want to be with you right now, we can tell them later." Ken hugged her tightly. Lita sat back down. She offered him some of her lunch, but he didn't want it. Lita didn't have much of an apetite either. She out it away in her backpack and lay back down on the grass. Ken did the same and put his head on her stomach, staring at the sky. Lita fingered a lock of his light brown hair. It was getting lighter and lighter. When they were small, his hair was as dark as hers, but now, it had sunny blonde highlights it them. "Your hair is turning blonde," Lita said. Ken didn't answer her. He smiled at a thought that went through his head. "Lita, remeber when we were small?" "Yeah, what about it?" "Remember we use to play castle and dungeons? I would pretend to be the knight, and you would always be the princess in distress? Remember I use to rescue you from the evil dragons? Remember when I said I would always protect you, the princess in distress? Now, our pretend games are coming true." Lita laughed at that. She remebered. Ken had his cardboard knife and she had her fake crown. The would play for hours, Ken always slaying dragons and saving her. Then, Lita said seriously, "But now, it's true. It's not a game anymore, Ken. We can get hurt. We did get hurt." "But I'll still protect you. That won't change." Lita didn't say anything to change his mind. She knew in her heart that nothing would. Instead, she said, "We should really tell Serena quick." "Soon," Ken got up and stretched. He pulled Lita up to her feet. Even though she was up, he held on to her hand. They seemed incapable of moving their eyes away. Their eyes were locked together. Softly, Ken's lips grazed Lita's and the kissed. Lita missed this. She missed kissing him and hugging him. Without Ken, she didn't feel whole. When they seperated, Lita was blushing. She didn't know why. "I love you, Lita." Ken admitted. He had said it before, but he felt like he would burst if he didn't say it again. "I'll always love you. Whenever I say something that you know isn't true, just forget it. You know in your heart I'll always love you, okay?" "I love you too," Lita said and meant it. Ken started to walk off the grass and onto the trail. Lita gathered up all her things and followed behind him. "I guess we should head to Serena's house, right?" Ken asked. Lita caught up with him, "Yeah." Suddenly, Ken stopped dead in his tracks. Lita bumped into him from behind. "What-" Ken held his finger to his lips, "Shhh." Lita followed his gaze and saw a man about Ken's height, with sunny blonde hair infront of them. He was about medium build under the trench coat. Trench coat? That was where I saw him! Lita thought. She had seen him in other parts of town, always wearing a trench coat. "Who is that?" Lita whispered. Ken never let his eyes off of him, "That's Loen. He's the guy that put this necklace on me. He's dangerous." "What are you going to do? We can transform and get rid of him like that!" Lita said. Ken put a hand on her arm, "No, we can't. It's not that easy. Look, go the other way out of the park. Go around the beach. Whatever you do, don't look back. Don't worry about me, I can take care of myself." Ken started to push Lita out of the way. "No, I'll stay with you," Lita said, determined. "Go! Don't let him see you and don't let him find out you even know me. I'll meet you at Serena's house. Hurry!" Ken said. "But-" "Just go! I promise I'll be okay." Ken pushed Lita to get her walking. Ken walked as bravely as he could up to Loen as he got close, Loen turned around. He looked at Ken with an interest in his eyes. "What are you doing here?" Ken demanded, ready to transform. "I knew I would find you here. I had a feeling." Loen sneered. Lita turned on the fork in the trail. She took a look behind her. She could see Ken talking to Loen. Even from a distance, she could see Loen had gleaming violet eyes that seemed to glow. She stopped, wondering if she should follow Ken's advice and leave or go and see if he needs help. Right now, they looked like they were having a small talk. She could see Ken's fist clenching and unclenching. She decided to go to Serena's first and tell them about it. Then if he still didn't come, they would look for him. Ken was strong. He could probably take care of this himself, thought Lita. "What do you want?" Ken repeated. Loen kept that sinister smile on, "I need you to do me a favor." "Never." "Wait until you hear it!" Loen said firmly, "I need to gather the heart crystals. Lots of it. But you see, I can't go, looking like I am." Loen pointed to himself. "That's where you come in." "Why can't you do it yourself?" Ken asked, getting fed up with this. "Because, you idiot! Because in order to get the heart crystals, I first need to get three soul crystals. Those are from regular people. I already have three soul crystals. Now, they are telling me that the person who has one of the heart crystals is a Sailor Scout. I can't get even close to a Sailor Scout. I need you to get it for me, you see. I know who you are. I know who your scout friends are. I need you to get a heart crystal for me." Ken laughed outloud. How stupid did this guy think he was? "Do you expect me to get it for you?" he spit in Loen's face. "I don't have to do anything for you!" "You will!" Loen said, looking intensly into Ken's eyes. Ken looked back, fighting him with his glare. He knew Loen was trying to wear down his will, but he couldn't. He's strong! Loen thought. He couldn't control him. It was taking too much power. I'll just body-snatch him, he thought again. Loen broke his gaze, shifting it to the sky. Ken was satisfyed that Loen couldn't wear him down. He started to walk away. "Stop!" Loen shouted, pointing a finger at him. Ken looked back difiantly. He got ready to transform. His whole body was tense, in anticipation of the fight that was sure to come. Loen sneered at him, "I don't need to use physical force. Do you think I'm like you? Counting on your muscles? Ha! Far from it." In a blink of an eye, Ken couldn't move anymore. He was frozen still. He felt as if his lungs were going to shatter any minute. He saw Loen snap his fingers, and all was black. He couldn't remember what happened afterwards, because he was out cold. ***** ****** ****** ****** ****** "Serena!" Lita pounded on Serena's door. "Let me in!" There was a sound of footsteps, then the door opened a crack. "What do you want?" Sammy asked, annoyed that someone disturbed his game playing. When he saw it was Lita, he opened it wider to let her in. "Oh, um, hi Sammy." Lita looked around for Serena. "Um, what are you doing here?" Sammy asked. He looked at the ground. He never told anyone about his crush on Lita. He started to like her when his sister started to bring Lita to her house. "Is Serena here?" Lita asked. "No, but I am," Sammy tried to look cool leaning against the wall. Lita just asked, "Do you know where Serena is?" Sammy thought a while. He had heard his sister say something like going to the temple, but he wasn't sure which one. "She said something like, 'going to the temple'. I don't know whick one." Lita knew which one Serena was going to, "Okay, thanks Sammy!" On the way out, she ruffled Sammy's hair. * * * * * * * * * When Lita reached the Cherry Hill temple, she was out of breath. She had run all the way from Serena's house. She knocked on the door to Rei's room. "Who is it?" Rei asked. "It's me, Lita," Lita huffed. Lita went in and found Mina, Ami, Serena and Rei reading mangas. All except Ami, who was reading something about Pythagoreum. Lucky for her she found all four girls together. "What are you doing here, Lita?" Rei asked, making room for her on the floor. Lita sat and caught her breath. She looked around for Luna. "Is Luna here?" she asked. "I'm right here," Luna said as she walked in the room with Artemis. "Lita, is there something wrong?" Serena asked. Lita took a deep breath and told them everything. Including what happened that day. After she told everyone, they sat there, sorting it through. "Do you know how this Loen guy looks like?" Luna asked. Lita thought a while, "I only saw him today from far away. The other times I saw him, his face was mostly covered or hidden by something like a hat. He had sunny blonde hair and I think purple eyes. He was about Ken's hieght, no maybe as tall as Darien. I think he's about medium build." Lita tried to recall from her memory. "Have you seen him before?" Serena asked. "Only once or twice around town. He's always hidding in the shadows or something," Lita told them. "Where is Ken now?" Mina asked. Lita looked at the clock. Ken should have been here by now. "I don't know. He told me to go first. When I looked back, it looked like they were having a normal conversation. I don't know. We have to go find him!" She got up quickly and started out the door. Someone held onto her arm, "Wait! Let's think this over first." It was Ami. "What is there to think over? We have to go look for him before he gets into trouble." Lita asked. "Let's think about this. I can track him down on my computer. Just give me a few seconds." Ami started to type lightning fast on her little computer. Lita sat back down, looking around impatiently. She saw the frown on Ami's face. "Ami, what's wrong," Lita demanded. "Wait, this can't happen," Ami said. "What? Tell me." Lita looked into the little computer. Ami pointed to the screen, "He's not on the screen. See, here we are," she indicated some different colored dots on the screen in the same place. "What do you mean he's not on the screen?" Lita asked. Luna walked up and peered into the screen, "There's only two explanations for this." "And that is?" Serena asked. Luna frowned, "He's either unconscious, or in another dimension." "Like in the Negaverse?" Rei asked. "Yes," Artemis answered. Lita got up and shook her head, "No! I shouldn't have left him!" "Lita!" Rei called after her. Lita ran out of the temple toward the bus stop. She was going to the park. He might still be there. Maybe Ami's computer was wrong. Lita jumped onto the bus and waited for the park to show up. She had no feeling. Her whole body was numb. She couldn't hear anything. Finally, the park showed up infront of the bus. "Stop!" Lita shouted and jumped out of the door of the bus even before it came to a stop. She zoomed into the park, to where she left Ken. It was empty. There were no signs of them. Not even footprints. Lita heard only silence. The silence was scaring her. All she wanted to hear was Ken. She wanted a sign that he was all right. "Ken! Where are you? Tell me you're alright!" Lita shouted into the trees. Only silence greeted her. There was nothing that made a sound. Lita sat on the grass, looking around her. The shadows played illusions on her eyes, making her look around nervously. She heard footsteps coming to her. Lita looked up and saw a group of people walking to her. She could see who the were. "Lita! Are you alright?" Mina called out. Lita could see Darien was with them also. Serena came to her, sitting down. "Lita, did you find Ken?" Darien asked. "No, I shouldn't have left him. I should have stayed." Lita mumbled. "It's not your fault. You didn't know what was going to happen. Don't blame yourself." Ami said. "But I can't find him!" Lita shouted. She got up and walked out off the grass. "Where are you going?" Serena called. "I'm going to his house. Maybe he's at his house." Lita said. "But it's all the way across town. You can't walk that far." Mina said. "I brought my car, I'll take you there." Darien offered. "Thanks," Lita offered a smile. "But we can't all fit your car!" Serena pointed out. Rei thought of what to do, "Me and Ami will take the bus home and call you up later, Lita." "Okay." Lita, Serena and Mina piled in Darien's red ferrari and sped off. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Ken woke up groggy. He tried to rub his eyes, but realized his hands were bound to the bed post above his head. He could see his feet were bound to the poles on the bottom. The room was dark, and it was cold. Very cold. He wished there was atleast a blanket. "Hey? Were am I?" he called. Footsteps came closer. The door of the small room opened. In came a guy in a hooded coat. Ken couldn't see the guy's face, but he could tell it was Loen. Loen stood by the bed, the shadows hiding his face, "It's about time you woke up." "Where am I?" Ken demanded. Loen ignored the question. He walked around the room, arranging things on dressers and counters. Ken kept noticing how Loen's face was hidden in the shadows. "Why are you wearing that? I know how you look like already." He asked. Loen turned, "Oh really?" "Get me out of here!" Ken yelled. "Yelling won't get you anywhere. No one can hear you." "Let me go!" Ken demanded. "One last chance. Are you going to agree to help me or not?" Loen asked. "Not," Ken said not missing a beat. "Okay, it was your choice," Loen got closer to Ken and put his hand on Ken's throat. Ken tried to bite Loen, but couldn't. Ken was about to say something when he discovered he couldn't talk. His mouth was moving, but no sound came out. Loen was looking seriously at Ken, even though his face was still hidden. Finally, Loen let go and stepped back. Ken glared at him. Loen walked to a desk and as clinking glasses around, mixing a drink of some sort. Ken looked at him under his bangs which were getting long. I need a haircut, he thought. He noticed his hair was actually blonde. But a while ago, Lita had said his hair was turning blonde. Was it actually this blonde? Loen interrupted his thoughts, "While you're studying your new hair, I'll go start his plan." Ken gasped. Loen was talking, but it was his voice. Loen was speaking in his voice! "Hey, what's-" Ken stopped talking. He didn't sound like himself. He sounded like.......................like Loen. That low scratchy voice. What had happened? Loen took his voice, he switched voices! "Surprised?" Loen asked, in a gleeful tone. "What did you do?" Ken asked. $ $ $ $ $ $ $ $ $ $ $ $ MAILTO: Ladyjupiter@sailorjupiter.com WHAT DID LOEN DO? WHAT'S GOING TO HAPPEN?
