Now that I have all the disclamers out of the way, I can stop worrying that someone will sue me. Tell me what you think. If you like it I might make more. My address is Jupiter101@hotmail.com This story links with episode 43 or somthing of Sailor Moon R. It's about the episode called "A Knight to Remeber." This is about the relationship with Ken and Lita. What is really up with those two anyway? Well maybe after you read this, it will make it more clear just what kind of relationship they have with one another. Rainy Day Man (the rest of the story) By Lady Jupiter (jupiter101@hotmail.com) "C'mon Ami! You can just tell us what's going to be on tommorow's test. Oh yeah, and the answers too obviously." Serena begged Ami for the answers. "No. I think you would have a better idea if you would just study," Ami said. "Ami's right, Serena." Lita agreed. "Like you don't want to know what the answers to tommorow's quiz is going to be too," Serena said. Lita made funny face. She did want to know the answers, but she knew it was bad to cheat. All three of them were staying late at school to do some extra studying in the library. It was nighttime already. They were all getting ready to leave. Suddenly, a scream cut through the air. All three of them ran out of the school building toward the scream. Lita saw a couple, huddled together. She could also see what was scaring them. A huge lion or something was standing in front of them, about to take their energy. Lita knew it was something from the Negaverse. Ken also ran out from his room. He was just coming out of taking and entrance exam at Lita's school. He was going to transfer to her school because it had a better educational system.k. He saw Lita and two of her friends on the other side. "Hey! Let them go!" Lita shouted. Ken couldn't beleive that was Lita saying that. He knew that Lita was brave, but she couldn't be that stupid. This was something inhuman and huge. About twice her size, and she's trying to threaten it? "Lita! Stand back," Ken shouted. Lita just stood there. The lion thing turned it's ugly head and looked at Lita. Lita didn't know what it was thinking. She could not transform right there. There were three other people, including Ken looking at them. Ken knew exactly what was on the lion's mind. He just hoped he could get there before the Lion did. He ran as fast as he could toward Lita. The lion had already started running and was getting there fast. Out of instinct, Ken made a dive for Lita and just hoped that somehow he would get there. Ken struct Lita and pushed her out of the way with great force. Lita got pushed back and stumbled. She fell by the edge of the school, almost falling off the edge. Then, she saw something fly past her and heard something thump down below. "Please don't let that be Ken," Lita pleaded in her mind. She didn't want to look. Sailor Moon came running. She saw the Lion perched in it's spot. "Hey you!" She called out. The Lion turned back and stared at Sailor Moon. Then, it made a leap, floated in the sky and then dissapeared. "Where did he go?" Sailor Moon asked. "Someone get help! Someone help Ken!" Lita shouted. She had forced herself to see who fell off the edge. Below, she saw Ken in a puddle of dark blood. She couldn't move, she didn't know what to do. The next sequence of events went by in a blur to Lita. She suddenly found a whole bunch of paramedics around her. "Ken, he's down there. Help him," Was all Lita could say. "Miss, can you please ride in the ambulance with us, we need some info on this young man," One of the paramedics said. They had already wheeled Ken into the back of the ambulance. Lita got in and sat by the side. There was not a lot of room in the vehicle, but she was able to move. "What happened to him?" one paramedic asked. "He tried to block me from something. He flew off the edge of the school I think." Lita mumbled. She felt like she was in a daze. "Is there anything I can do to help?" The paramedic didn't hear her, or didn't want to answer her. He was checking Ken's blood pressure. "Blood pressure going low! STAT!" He yelled into the walkie talkie he had. "We need type O blood." "I have type O blood!" Lita practically shouted. "Would you mind staying at the hospital?" the paramedic asked, "And give some blood to him?" "Ken. His name is Ken. I'll do anything to help him." Lita said. * * * * * * * * * Lita stared at the white hospital ceiling. She had been doing this the past hour. They made her lie in bed for the past three hours. An IV line was hooked up to her arm and taking a little blood out at a time and transfering it to Ken's IV. Lita was getting kind of bored. Ken still haven't woken up yet, so there was not really anyone to talk to. The nurses were nice, but they were busy. "Knock-knock!" Serena's shirll voice called out, "Can we come in?" "Sure," Lita said. Serena and Ami walked in. They had come from school, Lita could tell because both of them were carrying books. "How are you feeling, Lita?" Ami asked. "Fine," Lita said. "I could sing to you...but that would only make you feel worse," Serena said. "That's okay. Besides, you guys have a big history test to study for." Lita said. "Well, I study everyday. So I don't have to worry if I'm prepared for a test or not." Ami said. "Yeah, same thing with me. I never worry about tests, although I get different results. Maybe I should take some vitamins. Yeah, that's it!" Serena mumbled. "So Lita? What's the story on you and Ken?" Ami asked. She always wondered what was up with them. They were obviously good friends. "He's my best friend," Lita knew what they were wondering. If he really was just a friend. She wasn't really sure. She didn't want to make a move, afraid that it would ruin the friendship that took so many years to strengthened. Ami and Serena looked shocked. Ken was only a friend? They thought that there was some romance between them. They both uttered the words at the same time, "Your best.....friend?" Lita smiled and looked at Ken still lying unconsious on the bed. His ribs were taped, he broke four during the fall. She remebered at time when he was there for her, "Yeah, ever since we were kids, Ken's always been there for me...." she sighed. (flashback) Lita was waiting in the shelter of the little bench from the rain. She wasn standing under a little structure like a huge umbrella with steps leading under it to shelter from the rain. She was waiting for her boyfriend Freddy. It was raining hard. Freddy had called her and told her meet him there. He was late a usual. She saw Freddy coming toward her from the other side of the park. "Hi Freddy! What did you want to talk me about?" she ran to hug him. "No, don't come up." Freddy said. Lita stopped dead in her tracks. He sounded so mean and cold, "Why?" "I don't like you Lita. I want to break up." Freddy said in a cold tone. Lita dropped her umbrella. She couldn't see Freddy's face. He was half hidden in the shadow of his own umbrella. This is just a joke, Lita thought. "Freddy, is this a joke?" Lita asked. "No." "But-" Lita walked up to Freddy. Freddy held up his hands, as if to push her away, "Get lost Lita. Why would I want to be with you?" Freddy spun around and started to walk away. All Lita could do was stare. She was trying to let this all sink in. Was this true? Lita ran after him, then stopped herself. She was now in the rain. Freddy was mean. Everyone had told her he was a jerk, but she thought she would give him a try. Lita was suddenly aware that the rain wasn't pounding on her again. Her hair was damp and limp with rain. Lita looked at who was holding the umbrella for her. Ken. Ken was there. Ken was always there for her. Ken just smiled and looked onward. "He's not worth it, Lita." Ken said. Lita tried to smile at him through the film of tears, "Ken! You're my best friend." Lita hugged him and put her head on his shoulder. Ken hugged her back, giving her some sort off comfort. He had so many things to say to her, but none of that seemed right at that time. He just held her and the umbrella. He could feel Lita's whole body shake with gut-wrenching sobs. She was so easily heart-broken. But he would give her the strength to go on. (End flashback) "Ms Kino, you can go," the nurse took the IV off of Lita's arm and handed her a bandage. "Thank you," Lita put the bandage on. The nurse then gave her a bag of chocolate chip cookies. "What is this for?" Lita asked. "To build up your blood count. It's good for you," the nurse smiled kindly. "Will you tell me if there are any changes in Ken?" Lita asked. "Ofcourse. Are you his girlfriend?" the nurse asked. "No, just a friend." "You are such a good friend." The nurses smiled at her again and left the room. Lita walked to Ken's bed. Still no change in him. Ken didn't look as pale anymore, but he still was unconscious. "Ken, you have to get better." Lita pleaded, "Please Ken. I don't know how I would live without you. You're my best friend." Lita gave him a soft kiss on the forehead and left. "Thank you, Lita." Ken's mother thanked Lita for the blood on the way out. "I owe him one," Lita said. * * * * * * "Ken, how are you feeling?" Lita asked. It had been two days since Ken was awake. "Despite the fact that I fell two stories?" Ken asked. He laughed at his own joke, then stopped. It hurt his ribs too much to laugh. "Don't laugh Ken. I know it hurts." Lita said. "But you are so funny looking!" Ken said. "Ha ha. Very funny." Lita said sarcastically. Ken tilted his head, "I'm kidding Lita. You are actually turning out better than I thought." Lita smiled. Ken had looked out for her ever since they were small. "Thanks. You're not so bad yourself." Lita then thought of something, "Ken, why did you do what you did?" "What did I do?" Ken asked. "You saved my life and risked your life." "Because you're my best friend," Ken said. "Thank you, Ken." Lita said. "Hey, no problem. That's part of the job for an everyday super hero!" Ken kidded. Lita almost laughed at how ironic it was. There Ken was. Her best friend pretending to be a super hero. But Lita was hiding the fact that she was a super heroine. "Are you sure you're okay?" Lita asked seriously. "Fine. I just feel like I fell off of a three story building instead of just falling two stories." Ken said. "Oaw. My poor Kennie," Lita cooed. She adjusted his blanket for him. Poor Ken, Lita thought, he can't even get out of bed. Soon, he'll get better. * * * * * * * * * * * * * The girls were sitting on the porch of Rei's temple. They were discussing what to do. "I though we destroyed the Negaverse," Serena whined. "We did. So this might not be from the Negaverse." Luna said. "But it was a youma," Lita said. "It might be a youma from another source," Artemis explain. "We have to find out where it's from and demolish it." Mina said. Lita struck the wooden post, "Yeah! That will teach them to mess with my friends!" "Woa, don't knock down my house Lita." Rei said. "Say Lita, any word on Ken yet?" Ami asked. Lita sighed, "No. Poor guy hasn't even been able to get out of bed yet." (Well, you know what happens after that. How Sailor Jupiter and the other scouts fight the Lion thing and then Ken gets better and goes home. If you don't know that episode, I advise that you watch it. Now I'll start where the episode left off...) "Where are you going?" Mina asked. Lita turned around. School was over and most of the students were heading home. "I'm going to catch the bus to the park and meet Ken there." "Oh?" Mina had a questioning tone in her voice. "Mina! We're just friends. I just want to see how he's doing." Lita explained. "Okay," Mina still had a teasing tone in her voice. Lita caught the bus and headed for the park. She looked for the third bench into the forest. That was there usual meeting spot. Lita saw Ken was already there and was looking the other way. "Ken!" Lita said cheerfully. "Hi, got off of school already?" Ken scooted over to let her sit. "Yeah, I caught the first bus here. How did you get off so early?" "My school gets off an hour early on Fridays. I thought you knew." "Oh, I guess I forgot. Hey, how are you feeling?" Lita asked. "Great," Ken said. Something was on his mind. "Ken, what's wrong. Is there something on your mind?" Lita asked. "No," Ken answered abruptly. "Are you sure?" "Yes!" Ken snapped. "Okay, but I thought we could tell each other everything." Lita said. She had told Ken that she was Sailor Jupiter a long time ago. He promised not to tell anyone and it wasn't even mentioned since then. "There is something on my mind," Ken said slowly. "What?" Lita looked at him. His eyes took on a strange look. She had seen that look on Ken many times before. "You. You're on my mind." Ken admitted. "What?" Lita didn't think she heard right. "I love you Lita," Ken said, not scared anymore of admitting what he really felt. Lita smiled, "I love you too, Ken. You know that. You're my best friend ever since we were small." Lita said. Was that all that was no his mind. "No, I love you more than that," Ken said. Lita almost slapped herself. Ken loved her as a girlfriend? Why didn't she see it sooner? She recognized that look in his eyes. It was love. But why? They had been friends forever, but now? Was this love always there and she didn't even notice it? Did she love him the same way? She's always looked at Ken as a mentor, as a friend. "Lita, please say something. Even if you know it's going to hurt me." Ken pleaded, holding her hands. Lita looked up at him, her eyes were shimmering with tears. She didn't know why she felt like crying, "Why?" She uttered. "I don't know why. I felt this way for a long time. I first thought it was hormones or something, but it's not. I know. I didn't tell you at first because I thought it would ruin our friendship. But I can't keep it in anymore. You just grew up so fast. You are the most enticing person I've ever met." Ken said. Lita didn't know what to do. Ken had revealed all his feelings and now it was up to her. She had his heart in the palm of her hands. She didn't want to break his heart, even if she wanted to. She loved him too, but did she really love him the way he wanted her to? She could give it a try. "Lita?" Ken asked and tipped her face so that her eyes met his. Lita could see the love literally shinning from his clear eyes. She took a deep breath, "Ken, I don't know what to say." Ken gave a small smile and pulled her up with him. Now, they stood together in the park. Lita put her head on his shoulder. She had done that so many times before, but now it felt different. If Ken dumped her, then she would have no shoulder to cry on. As if Ken read her mind, he said, "Lita. I won't leave you ever." Lita tilted her head up and looked at him. He really meant it. Slowly, they got closer to each other. Ken smoothed a tear from Lita's rosy cheeks. He brought his lips on hers and kissed her. The kiss was sweet. Lita then knew that she had always loved Ken. In every way. She kissed him back and smiled. Maybe Mina actually did see what was blind to them. Mina saw the love between Ken and Lita. * * * * * * That's the end. What do you think? Too sappy? Well tell me what you thought and mail me. I know this wasn't exactly like the episode A Knight to Remember. But I had to change a few parts to tie in with my story. ********* COPYRIGHT 1997 BY LADY JUPITER(JUPITER101@HOTMAIL.COM***********
