Sri Sankara Mutt One of the significant examples of Hindu tolerance. Sankara Mutt in Kanchipuram stands right next to a mosque for years. Rumors abound about some influential visitors to the mutt trying to remove the mosque without the knowledge of the Paramacharya. All such efforts were strictly stopped once the Paramacharya came to know of them. There are also stories about the Paramacharya observing strict silence during the times of the day when prayers are conducted in the mosque.
