Eternity has already started!
Forever comes along one right-now at a time. This
is
eternity. It will always be like this. Oh, the circumstances will change constantly, but it will still be one instant at a time.
I'm not saying live for the moment, just in it. Learn to stop reminiscing about the past, daydreaming about the future, or fantisizing about what you should have said.
If you don't learn how to live in the present, you will miss eternity.... one moment at a time.
Welcome to the Temple! Our purpose is to promote the study and practice of the Buddha's way. I am Rev. Hugh Ryunyo King.
We will try to make information available about ALL branches of Buddhism. and encourage ALL Buddhist practices. I, myself, am partial to the Sukhavati ("Pure-land") practices.
We have links to:
-
other Buddhist groups
-
our library
with Sutras and both traditional and modern commentaries
-
the plans for a small folding cardboard Buddhist shrine for traveling etc.
-
Buddhism for Dum-dums, a blatant rip-off! Still under construction. Probably always will be.
- a
question and answer page
where you can leave questions. (We will look up the answers and post them.) Read some of the Q&As that have already been posted
here. This is also the easiest way to send us e-mail.
-
our staff
- Membership information.
-
a small collection of Buddhist clip-art for your page. If you need any of these, they are yours. If you don't, maybe you can give us access to some graphics that others can use.
- And some pictures of get-togethers at the Temple.
The picture on the right is the statue of Kannon (Kuan Yin, Avalokitesvara) at Mount Putuo near Shanghai, considered one of China's "holy mountains". It was a photograph sent to us by Peng Yau Tan, of Singapore. It was taken while he was on a pilgrimage to the Temples there. He has invited us to use the picture here. Thank you, Peng Yau Tan.
May all beings attain Perfect Peace.
