It wasn't until 1989 that Sugizo and Shinya joined from another rival band in the area. Ryuichi joined in May of '89 and the band then released three demo tapes, and did a few shows, but it was in November of 1990 that they changed their name to Luna Sea and signed to the Extasy record label under which they released their first album, the self-titled Luna Sea. In 1991, Luna Sea signed with MGA Victor, where they have been ever since.
