Pata was the other guitarist of X. hide and Pata shared all the guitar duty, neither really being lead or rythym. It is this aspect that made X's music so enthralling. Both hide and Pata were extrememly accomplished musicians and their dual solos were a high point in many X songs.
Pata has moved on after the disbanding of X to many solo projects. He appeared as a guest guitarist on hide's albums and tours. His own projects reflect his classic guitar style, and have a very jazzy feel to them. As most are instrumental pieces much like the reknown Joe Satriani, the quality of Pata's work really shines through.
