Food

Call me trendy, but I'm very interested in Asian cuisine lately. Unfortunately, my husband refuses to eat any kind of "foreign" food since he became ill after eating some Chinese take-out in Belgium years ago. Oh well, table for one please!

Today's Specials:

.

Tokyo Food Page -- Great resource for Japanese recipes, food items and restaurants in and around Tokyo.

Yan Can Cook -- "Mmmm!" "Very interesting, see?" I wish I had Martin Yan's energy when I cook! If you've seen his cooking shows, you know what I mean. If you haven't, then watch! I really like his current series, "Asia", because it's like a cooking show and travel show in one. He really inspired me to try cooking some of the dishes at home instead of just ordering takeout. Of course, my end result doesn't look anything like his, but it tastes great, so who cares?

A Taste of Thai -- Look here for Thai recipes using A Taste of Thai brand products. You can also request their recipe booklet or order a cd-rom cookbook.

Channel A's Food and Drink Page -- I think Channel A (for Asia) is the greatest page since Yahoo. It's aimed at Westerners interested in Eastern culture, like me. After you check out their food page, you'll surely want to see the rest of their site and maybe do some shopping.

Kikkoman -- Learn all about their products and find recipes for all kinds of creative dishes. I have developed a sudden passion for soy sauce and now I put it on all my meat, before or after cooking, and on ramen noodles. Who needs salt when you've got soy sauce?

The Oriental Pantry -- A mail-order source for cooking ingredients, supplies and cookbooks. (I haven't ordered from them, but the Too Hot Tamales recommend the site, so judge for yourself.)
